Raw diet diary day 2

Very happy to report still no vomiting! She had her morning poo and it's still significantly less than normal, and very firm. I am using the Primal feeding guidelines and it seems like so MUCH food compared to what she used to get. The woman at the store said in her experience most dogs tone up and lose body fat when switched to raw. I asked the vet, and he said Audrey was at an ideal weight.

At a loss

I have a call into the vet, but thought I would ask if anyone has experienced this:

I came home 3 days ago to find Gus was spooked by something. He was very skittish, refused to go into certain rooms, constant barking at nothing. The next day he flared up with hives; we gave him benedryl to help as we thought this behavior was because he was uncomfortable. He has continued this behavior and has gotten progressively worse, to the point where he is acting psychotic, jumps up from laying down, and starts trying to climb the walls.

Rear right leg

Toby does not appear to be putting weight on rear right when walking. He did a lot of running at the dog park today but he did not walk weirdly until tonight. I am so worry. Maybe he is sore from running? but why only on one leg? He is not jumping on me at all which he usually do. sad.gif

Anesthsia and older bulldogs

Hi, this is to help out some bully parents that are having some surgery on their guy, he is 10 years old and are removing a testicular tumor. They are concerned about the anesthesia and were asking for any help to ensure he comes out of it ok... let me know your thoughts if you have any happy.gif

thanks

Ear Infection

So I think Stella might be developing an ear infection. Keeping an eye on it but she's definitely been irritated by it. She's also been picky about her food and a bit more lethargic. I'm wondering if this may be because she's in season or something else. I know that's not a ton of information but any thoughts?

bumps on body of 9mos frenchie

my youngest frenchie has these bumps that the vet said were pimples and it would burst with some kind of discharge that smells like pus, not sure. And then it would dry and flakes off. He's been on clavamox for 14 days and another antibiotics for a month I forgot the name which helped, but then the bumps came back. the Clavamox really doesn't help much. Do you know what he has, it's not hives I don't think because his fur doesn't stick up. I have used malaseb and hexadine shampoo and it made no difference.

age to discover problems ?

at what age should a vet be able to find out if a pup has respitory, and or eye problems, should a vet be able to reconize say by 3mths of age or sooner?? i have asked all the owners of potentional bullies i have inquired about as to who their vet was, and has the sire or dam had any medical problems like the throat or eye or skin. of course none has, im just courious as to when a vet can spot some major problems like that

Shampoo for dog with major allergies?

Does anyone know of a good shampoo that would work for a bully that has major allergies? I have tried all kinds of things on Mason and have about used all the different shampoos you can get at Petco with no luck but with him itchy like crazy. I have also used the malaseb shampoo which made him itch really bad too suprisingly. I'm thinking he might be allergic to oatmeal in shampoos. The thing is I need a shampoo that actually has a smell to it because if you use a fragrence free shampoo he still smells(he constantly has a yeasty smell to him).

Raw diet diary day 1

So far 2 raw meals and no throwing up. YAY! She seems to really like it, all 5 animal noses went up in the air and followed me around with the frozen patties yesterday; the cats were very excited about it. I got salmon oil in a pump bottle because popping a hole in the capsules to squirt the oil out was just not workig for me. So 2 dogs get that oil and my one dog (who'd eat a rock if I put it in her food bowl) gets the capsules, and I gave her a double dose of the digestive aid because it said to double it for stressed animals.
