At a loss

I have a call into the vet, but thought I would ask if anyone has experienced this:

I came home 3 days ago to find Gus was spooked by something. He was very skittish, refused to go into certain rooms, constant barking at nothing. The next day he flared up with hives; we gave him benedryl to help as we thought this behavior was because he was uncomfortable. He has continued this behavior and has gotten progressively worse, to the point where he is acting psychotic, jumps up from laying down, and starts trying to climb the walls.

This morning he threw up twice, but seems to be less skittish. On a side note he is completely normal when outside of the house. He is eating drinking and going to the bathroom normally as well.

Is his hearing okay? nm

Audrey did the same jumping up

and acting like there was a ghost biting her butt when she hurt her neck, BUT she didn't have hives or vomiting from it.

Smoke alarm?

You would probably know this but I have had dogs who are totally freaked out by the low battery beep of the smoke alarm. I mean, almost unable to function they are so stressed. Now I always change them in advance so they don't beep when I am not home. Just a thought.

At a loss

it is soo strange, I walked around the ouse to see if something may have fallen and scared him, but everything was in order. He definatley had an alleergic reaction to something, I am thinking a spider bite, as his food hasnt changed at all.

If they could only talk and tell us whats wrong. He looks soo scared and depressed

I am no help

I saw the other post and I think you are right going with the vet. It is odd, but he may have had an allergic reaction to something that NEEDS vet attention. Could he have gotten into any medications? but then he would be acting out outside the house too. Keep us posted, I am curious to see how this pans out and of course want your baby to be okay. J & T
