Ear Infection

So I think Stella might be developing an ear infection. Keeping an eye on it but she's definitely been irritated by it. She's also been picky about her food and a bit more lethargic. I'm wondering if this may be because she's in season or something else. I know that's not a ton of information but any thoughts?

Re: when we knew something was up with Audrey's ear

( I realized that i didn't really clarify the two concerns, the issue of doing forum posts at work lol)

Her ear doesn't really smell it just had a larger amount of junk and was visually read and swollen. Behavior wise she just stratched it a lot. I'll give the vet a call in the am.

Thanks. Hope she feels better soon.

Re: the best way is to go the vet and get a culture..done

Thanks, I'll call in the AM.

the best way is to go the vet and get a culture..done

I know that Gus had a very irratated ear infection..he kept shaking his ears all the time. took him to the vet and did a culture and then put him on ear drops to clear it up.

I just cleaned it more frequently and still ended up at the vets a few days later. It was infected and it took 2 weeks of meds to clean them! I'd say if it smells bad just take her because they do a culture to see what's causing it so it can be treated properly.

that's how Audrey's started

more gunk than normal and red and swollen from her scratching. When it started to smell I took her to the vets, but if it happens again I won't wait til it stinks.
