After Having no luck trying the different Natural Balance flavors:Chicken/ fish and Venison I am thinking about trying Orijen. There is a new flavor Regional Red and I was wondering if anyone has tried it yet.?? The protein analysis is 38% in the red and 40% in fish and chicken formulas. According to the web the Red is hard to find because it is new. !!!!! ( I had read a review that there food smells so good even the owner wanted to try it! Ha Ha) I am hoping my picky eater will like it.
Dear all,
so i went out of town for a couple of weeks and came back and noticed that my almost 6 yo kibby's eyes were a little red... not red on the actual eyeball but the surrounding meat around the eyes, not swollen or anything. I just figured she didnt have good sleep while i was gone.
she had a squinting problem on her left eye for a little while b4 i left and the vet said it could be just a little entropian, that seemed to go away..this is b4 i went out of town. he didnt seem to worry about it so i didnt either.
Since Stella had her major tummy upset after Christmas, I've been giving her a Pepcid AC upon the recommendation of my vet. It seems to really be helping.
The vet said to give her one a day. But it seems to run out and she starts feeling low much sooner than that. Anyone give more than one a day? Just curious.
just to get the almost three week old pups a little longer between feedings (they are still at 3-4 hours. Mom is feeding every meal but would like to try something for the last meal before bed anybody got a mixture to try at this early age??? thanks in advance!
ok.. I am fit to be tied.
My poor little Stella.
I have switched her to raw.
She is getting chicken, beef, bones, organs, veggies, garlic.
And a daily scoop of cottage cheese, a boiled egg and sometimes canned salmon or tuna with carrots and garlic mixed in.
She seems just as itchy and red as she was on kibble, and her eyes have started gooping again.
Am I being impatient? How long does this take? She has been raw for about a week now.
Dale died in her sleep last evening just 9 days short of her 13th birthday. I knew she was ready to go as she didn't want to eat the past 48hrs and I had to coax 1-2T. food into her a few times a day but I did manage to slip in some pain meds to ease her struggle. If you want to read 'her story' look at the Home Page, Hall of Fame, August 2009 where she was BOM. Her final chapter...she remained resolute and sweet to the end. Its too quiet here this morning...I miss you already, Sweetheart.
10 yrs old, has been breathing heavy, just got down from couch and started uncontrolable head tremors.
In case anyone's interested...I thought this article was very imformative, especially to dog food novices like myself!

as so many of you know, I have switched my dogs to raw, and was happy to see that quite a few others seem to be making the switch right about the same time. It is nice to go through experiences with a group vs going it alone!
I have been doing a lot of research on Cystine stones, and found this on the web. I wanted to post this for all fellow Bulldog Owners. www.akcchf.org/pdfs/whitepapers/Bulldog07.pdf
