This person is stating opinion only. She is not a nutritionist. Just a concerned pet owner. Even a chicken breast does not contain 100% protein. Check your nutrition label next time at the grocery store. Orijen really pushed the fresh meat on their packaging yet the second ingredient is meat meal? A meat meal is powder. The portion of actual fresh meat added to your pets food is minimal. It would be impossible for an extruder machine to incorporate 70% fresh meat through the equipment. I doubt Orijen does their own meat rendering (the process of turning meat into meal). Most have it done off site but I am not sure. You have to ask them. If it is offsite, I can guarantee there is more than just chicken in that meal. Yuck! If you have ever been within 100ft of a meat rendering plant you will know it. Disgusting!! The best thing we can do for our pets is lobby for stricter laws and accountability for pet manufacturers. The government barely spends the money on enforcing human food guidelines so you can imagine how little pet food is enforced.
Careful what you read...

Thanks for sharing. I hope everyone reads it. Your not a novice anymore.
I don't rescue animals because I want to feel better about myself, or morally superior to anyone. The best part of my life with animals is the humility they teach and the humanity the foster.
