Just got an e-mail from one of my new puppy owners saying her vet is saying her bully has a severe case of "Brachycephalic Syndrome". First of all I verified with my stud owner, and my dog's breeder that this doesn't run in the lines. Second of all, how did my vet, AND myself miss it IF this is an exsisting problem? Third, she's 11 weeks old....from what I've read, this is a case where surgery isn't even an option until 6 months to a year old. I'm so shocked right now.......I need some advice.
i've read a lot of posts about giving dogs fish cephalexin for infected chin acne. i have a couple of questions before i order some: (cooper is 13 months old & weighs 56 lbs)
does it matter what brand i order?
should i order 250mg pills or 500mg pills?
is the proper dosage 500mg 3 times daily?
how many days do i give this to him? (i would assume 7-10, but not sure)
the litter was three weeks yesterday and seem to be hungry every three hours still. All are two and a half to three pounds so they are not starving but I wonder if mom is making enough as they seem to want more after being on her. When is it too early to start them on a regular basis with food? The last two night I've made then goats milk and baby cereal and they love it but how often should I do that at this age??? Thanks in advance for the advice!
My dear friend and neighbor just found out some horrible news. His 6 year old had an MRI today and a brain tumor was found. On top of that he has 2 crushed discs near his neck. What would you all do? Have the surgery to correct the disc problem? The specialist wants to operate right away to fix the disc issue, but he could not say how long he would survive with the brain tumor. It could be months or even years.I really feel for him and want to lend my support.
Ok just in the last couple of hours Dozer is drooling excessivley. I stepped on a wet spot on the floor by his doggy bed and couldn't figure out where it came from. He has bubbles forming at the corner of his mouth and he is dripping. Whats going on? He's only ate his usual kibble today..And he hasn't gotten into anything as far as i know. What could be wrong?
A friend of mines bully has been suffering with occasional siezures.A local vet perscribed phenobarbitol but the dosage was way too high and the dog would wet the bed..(knocked him out)ect.Anyway,I suggested cutting the dose in half which has been working really well, but now(today)he had another episode. We were wondering if the fact that there is a bitch in heat in the same house may have overstimulated him and caused another episode.Any suggestions?
Hi everyone,
Our vet has recommended Flexadin for Stella's arthritis.
However some of the reading we have done indicates that Glucosamine HCL is not as good as Glucosamine sulphite.
Any thoughts or experience regarding this?
Thanks in advance,
Tiffany and Stella
cant get in to see my vet, and the meds are so expensive, can I give him a coated aspirin?? now remember I am in canada so meds are different, thanks everybody
After Having no luck trying the different Natural Balance flavors:Chicken/ fish and Venison I am thinking about trying Orijen. There is a new flavor Regional Red and I was wondering if anyone has tried it yet.?? The protein analysis is 38% in the red and 40% in fish and chicken formulas. According to the web the Red is hard to find because it is new. !!!!! ( I had read a review that there food smells so good even the owner wanted to try it! Ha Ha) I am hoping my picky eater will like it.
