Neo Poly Dex - downsides?

Hey all, I posted a while ago about Tank's eye drooping a little and a potential infection. Neo Poly Dex was advised as a potential solution. Is there a risk to applying this without a vetinary consultation? The vet wants to charge me $60 just to look at him, and he is't bothered at all by it at the moment so i hesitate to bring him in.
Is it safe to just give it to him and watch to see if it works, and also, is there anyway to get the ointment without going to the vet to save the $60?
Thanks all!

Audrey's face is a MESS

it's only been a week on no Angel's Eyes, and I just completed the switch to the new food yesterday. Her face is already brown! I don't know if I can stand looking at her face turn brown for weeks waiting to see if the food works! Her right eye is watering like crazy too.

2 females but only 1 litter!

Strange situation at my house. My mommy and her litter are just fine, the pups are 2 weeks old now. Pups are still seperate from mom unless I am right there with them. But here is what is happening now. I have another female (auntie Jezz) and she is very interested in the pups. When mommy is pottying the pups, Jezz comes over and tries to help. At first I thought this would upset mom so I kept Jezz far away. However, this morning while I was holding a pup for mom to potty, I let Jezz come up and sniff the pup. She began to help potty the pups too.

Incontinence

My 4 yr old male bully over the last month has become increasingly incontinent during sleep and at rest I tried PPA didn't help had 2 courses of antibx now testing thyroid and for lepto any suggestions anyone had this problem he was neutered when he was 8 mos old never peed or pooped in house once now i have to have a blanket under him at all times and he smells like a billy goat I'm so worried.

food trials

are a lot harder than I ever thought! Last night my daughter was giving a very HAPPY Audrey potroast and veggies, which really wouldn't have been a problem because what we are eliminating is grains, but the flavoring was made with soy proteins and wheat gluten! UGGGGG! She thought she was doing so good beacuse she didn't give her any bread and Audrey was very pleased herself. It was also the first night of 100% new food, and she threw up, and Bridget's pathetic tail stump is oozing blood all over and the poor dog can't really walk.

info on dvm pharmacuticals and glucosomine

Dear all,

I just happen to be on line last night searching for some good glucosomine for my 5 year old kibby and my 12 year old gabby... when i came across some synogi soft chews and other items, I noticed that many were cheaper or out of stock... after some further research I found out that TEVA animal products aka dvm phamaceuticals, makers of malaseb, optic ear, and a bunch of other stuff got shut down by the FDA back in July 2009 for quality control issues... see article

Bridget is home

and it's pitiful to see her with no tail! She has had some neurological problems in the past, and especially after getting treated for heartworms 2 years ago. Now her back foot is dragging again, I sure hope it gets better afer the anesthesai completely wears off.

vet just called and Bridget is out of surgery!

he said she did great! The only complication was she had a fatty tumor on the base of her tail and he had to cut around it to get enough skin to close it off, but she's standing and waking up nicely. Poor old dog has so many fatty tumors she's lumpy!Nothing major though. Her Momma had tumores too.
