Hi All,
Our guy was diagnosed with an ear infection today. The vet did an ear wash and Mometamax and he got his first antibiotic with dinner tonight.
The poor guy was able to rest all afternoon, but now his ear is CLEARLY bothering him. I feel so bad because I hate to see him in pain/discomfort.
Any advice on how we can ease the discomfort for him tonight so he (and we) can sleep??? I didn't think to ask the vet this question and now, of course, they are closed.
We switched Tug to Natural Balance duck and potato to see if that helps with his allergies. He doesn't like it at all. Anybody know of anything we can put on the food to make it more desirable to him?
they are major chewers? they chew on hard toys, rubber toys, stuffed toys, & sometimes their food lol! just wondering if it's more for the non-chewing dogs?
Spanky is still having major trouble with is ears. The vet convinced me that at 8 years old, it is best not to mess around trying different foods without some basis. She gave him an allergy blood test (just testing for foods) that she is mailing away. We will have results in about 10 days. In the meantime, he is eating the dry version of Z/D Prescription Diet. She is also continuing the Simplicef antibiotic. This was an expensive day and we are hoping for the best for Spanky!
Can someone recommend a good grain free puppy food or a food designed for a sensitive system? My 10 week old Bullie is eating California Natural (Chicken and Rice)mixed with Canidae all stages formula and has been having soft stools. I tried giving him oatmeal to firm up his stool but it went right through him. I've been told he might have a grain allergy so I'm looking into finding a high quality puppy formula for him.
Also I've been told EUKANUBA is a good brand. Anyone have success witht his?

I did a search on med forum and many of you did not mention how it happened.
I don't understand. Toby was fine before I left for work. Is it cause by accidental scratch to the cornea?

So I have 2 pups Buddy, 9 months old, and Brother, 4 months old. When they play Buddy usually brings the toy, and Brother takes it away. They go back and forth, and Buddy sometime shows he is bigger and tougher, but usually he gives up to the littler puppy. They don't fight over treats, or their bowls, which are seperate, but either can access the others bowl and water except for actual feeding time.
I have a 4 year old male bulldog that has food allergies. We feed him natural balance fish formula dog food. All it has is fish and potatoes as main ingredients. A 27 lb bag is $50 and since I am laid off right now I am looking for any area's where I can cut back.
Can anyone recommend a good quality dog food that might be alittle cheaper?
How does a dog contract a yeast infection on skin? Is it triggered by allergies to food, environment, water or any combination of the above? What holistic/natural remedies can be used to prevent, avert or help build the immune system against this type of infection? I have a 9mo old Bullie female with skin testing pos for yeast. It shows as a redness and hair loss, but she does not scratch nor does it seem to bother her eating and general demeanor.
