My Lily has been put on diuretics (lasix) to control some issues with fainting, leaking heart valve, breathing problem...this may just be the first step, tomorrow we're going for a check up...but in the meantime she is drinking a lot and peeing a lot. As expected, vet told me that. Is this going to normalize or is it something I am to get accustom to? Anyone had this experience?
seasonal flank alopecia, hotspots, and staph infection? My bullie has bald spots on his back but I do not know what it is. Someone told me seasonal flank alopecia has to do with the thyroid. I don't know what to think. Thanks for your help!
Has anyone treated it successfully?
Email me.

Thanks!

Both Tank and I really appreciate your time spent helping us understand eye meds and self treating in general. We ended up bringing Tank with us to the vet because our other pup, Nola, had an ear infection. Well, $200 later (we knew she needed Animax but they wouldn't give it to us without a full $60 check up) they gave us a triple antibiotic for his eye just in case. I am so fed up with paying outrageous sums of money to vets who aren't as familiar with the nuances of bulldogs as the people posting on this site.
Sorry if this gets kinda long, but I am not sure what is going on with her. On Friday am she threw up 8 times. She seemed to be better in the afternoon-not throwing up, playing going outside, drinking and I think she ate her supper (TOTW buffalo/venison). Then at about 9:30am and until about 4:30am throwing up every 2hours throughout the night. Saturday she didn't eat anything, but would drink water and no vomiting. Sunday threw up once and ate rice/hamburger.
I need suggestions about our sweet 8 year old Spanky. We adopted him in July. In the last couple of months he has started having to urinate more often. If he goes out for the last time at 10:30pm, he still barks to get up and pee at around 3:00am. His previous owner said he was able to last all night. Is a 5 hour limit typical for senior bulldogs?
I have a pup that hasn't pooed in 1.5 days, shes 18 days old. I have tried kayro, running her bum under warm tap water, massage and mylicon drops when I thought she was crying due to gas.
Tonight I put the tip of the thermometer dipped in vaseline just into the opening of her rectum. Still nothing.
Can I give a mild soaps sud enema? Has anyone used one? I really need help, she is starting to act differently and I am afraid for her.
Thanks,
Heather

Zoey (will be 4 years old this week) was spayed a couple of years ago, but my husband and I noticed her acting strange for the past few days. She normally sleeps a lot, but she's sleeping more than usual and not as playful. She's been extremely snuggly, and our male dog can't seem to keep his face out of her backside. When we catch him in that area, we move him away and notice him licking more than usual as if he got a horrible taste of something, and we notice a smell that is familiar to when she was in heat.
