Tug has terribly itchy ears and we can't find the problem. He has been put on a steroid which we hate giving him but it is the only thing that seems to give him any releif. He also takes Benadryl twice a day as needed. The skin on his rear legs will also flare up from time to time and he either tries to chew on them or drag himself around on his belly trying to ease the itch.
He had the bladder stone removal surgery today. He was under for an extra 40 mins because there were a huge amount of stones. He said some were definitely big enough to have cause a blockage and we were lucky that didn't happen. He said the stones had a greenish cast to them, lime green and he had no idea what their composition was. I'll post again when the report is back.
Sarge will be 6 in February and I would like to know which Gloucosomine supplement that you recommend.
Thanks, Happy New Year!
Awhile back I asked about these red bumps on my puppy 9 mos back and belly that would pop in a few days and the dry off into scabs. Well today I went to another vet and said he has demodex they found a mite when they pluck some of his fur and saw it under a microscope. So now he is on antibiotics, capstar and I had to choose between the liquid ivermectin given orally which is cheaper but have side effects that effects the dog's behavior like he is drunk and can collapse or the interceptor which is less likely and it's in pill form.
Hi all, I'm bully-sitting a rescued bulldog for a friend and my friend is on a cruise and is not reachable. I know the bulldog has allergies but her belly is REALLY red and quite warm to the touch. Its obviously sore/inflamed. She will scratch herself so bad, it causes her teats to blead a little. I feel so bad for her. Do any of you know if there is anything, ointment, powder etc. that I can give her to calm/cool the irritation. Would Benedryl help? Thanks in advance!
30 days inside mom? Just felt a bump about the size of a half dollar and I know they say 28 days you can feel pups in the horns.
Or could it be due to her being in heat? Two days I fed a little bit of wet food mixed in with regular dry food. First time, she went to the bathroom in crate at night all over the place woke up in the middle of the night to clean everything and her.
Second time, which was a couple days later woke up to her with vomit everywhere. They loved eating the food, my other female is un affected. My little one on the other hand doesn't seem to be digesting it well or maybe it's because of her not feeling well due to her being in heat?
Well, I've had Mable for about 4 days now. I've completely changed her diet (her mom didn't leave me with her food, so i put her on what my dogs are on, Natural Balance). She has really bad arthritis/HD. I am feeding a little less than what the feeding guidelines suggest on the bag because I need her to lose weight to help her joints. When she came here she was 49.5 pounds and today she weighed at the vet 47.7 pounds. What negative things can happen to a dog who loses weight too fast?
