Hi All,
Hope everyone had a good holiday! Well yesterday I drove home from Nevada to Utah and during the 6 & 1/2 hour drive Spanky had thrown up in the back seat I stopped and took him out and he had dirrhea real bad alot came out the 1st time he went to the bathroom but then he was squatting for about 20 min and barely anything came out this morning he went and had dirrhea again but just now I took him out and only a little came out and he was squatting for about 30 min straight it looked like he was straining himself then he started dragging his butt arround and running in circles and then he yelped he finally came inside I wipped him off and he is sleeping now, I know he didn't get into anything and there hasnt been a change in diet. The stool just now did look a little red but I dont think its blood. Can I give him Immodium-AD? and how much and should I take him in to the vet? He was just at the vet for skin issues and they prescribed antibiotics I'm going to pick the script up today but I'm wondering if I should wait now? Thanks and sorry this is so long, just a concerned bully mommy
Sincerely,
Liz
Cooked Rice....
...works great and it's cheap.

I have
used both Flagyl (sp) from the vet, which works very well and very quickly and have also used Immodium and pumpkin. For me, the pumpkin takes awhile to work.
A tablespoon or two on his food should do it.

how much pumpkin?
Thank you for all of your suggestions. I was just wondering how much pumpkin to give him and if I should mix it with anything or just give it to him straight out of the can? Thanks again!
Sincerely,
Liz

When my bulldog had diarrhea. I've used it twice on him in the past year and it's worked really well. If the link doesn't work google "proviable"
I usually give one immodium and than another a few hours...
later if they are still having loose stools. You can also put him on a bland diet, rice, hamburger cooked with the fat toweled off, or boiled chicken and add some canned pumpkin. Make sure he's drinking water also.
