Good afternoon! Tuffy was romping in the backyard with the kids for about 20 minutes. It isn't that hot outside--low sixties but I think he just overexerted himself running around because when we brought him in he was panting excessively, didn't want to eat his lunch and then collapsed into a prone position for a little while. I immediately sprayed his belly with water and offered him water and it helped somewhat but he was still panting nonstop. He ate some lunch and then I put him in his crate in a cool area to relax.
sometimes have a tendency to burn, so my vet makes his own.
Ok, so she had her long awaited opthal recheck yesterday and here is what he thinks is going on ( she still squints after months of being on Optimunne and Genteal )
Her tear production is now NORMAL !
There are NO eyelashes rubbing her eye .
There is absolutely nothing wrong with her eye ( after a very extensive exam with all special opthal equipment ) that he can see .
I've read that one of the leading cause of upset tummies in dogs is overfeeding. So, as an experiment, I've started to decrease the amount I feed Tuffy per feeding to see if that helps with his chronic soft stool. I noticed that going from a full cup to half a cup is helping to some degree. Also not mixing in anything is looking to be the key. Anytime I add yogurt, cottage cheese, salmon oil or eggs he gets the squirts. SO now it's smaller portions and more frequent feedings.
to bring to a groomer??
I'm a little crazy, the more I read about Lepto vaccine reactions (Cash had a severe reaction when he was 12 weeks old) the more I think he should be on some sort of supplement. I've been giving him this for 2 months now - do you think its worth it? He has seasonal allergies ( his tears change to red and eyes water ) Supporters of this supplement say that its cured everything from allergies to cancer.. I figure it can't hurt? Here are the ingredients:
I wish I would have kept better records or have a better memory, but someone asked if they need to change the food they feed for thier hopefully pregnant bully. They are feeding Royal Canin Bulldog food without problems. Should she change to a puppy or high performance food?
Any advice would be appreciated..
Thanks
Kim
