vet recommendation - New Orleans area???

does anyone live in the New Orleans area and have a good EB vet to recommend. I live about an hour south in Thibodaux/Houma area. I see that there are some linked on the main page, just looking for some personal rec's.

The local vet seems good, but I don't think is very experienced w/ EB and he is recommending the surgery to widen the pinched nostrils.

I would just like to have her checked out by someone who is a little more familiar before proceeding.

Re:temp drop prior to labor

Once the temp drops how long does it stay down--only for a brief time (a matter of hours) or until active labor actually commences? In other words--if I am taking temp every 4-6 hours can I miss the drop? I know the temp drop is due to the cessation of the production of progesterone in the bitch (which maintains the pregnancy) and it is the decrease in progesterone which (among other factors) brings on the labor and that progesterone is a heat producing hormone which is why the temp suddenly drops until the body's regulatory system recompensates.

Did Sabel have a Seizure???

Last night, I caught out of the corner of my eye, Sabel stumbling in the hallway. Her back legs seemed to be slipping on the hardwood floor. As i got up to check on her she dragged herself into the bathroom. I walked into the bathroom to find her all 4 legs out laying on the floor, shaking. I thought this was it. I thought she was dying... I tried to turn her on her side and hold her and cradle her her whole body was limp and she was gasping for air. Her tongue fell out of her mouth it was blue... blue blue, her lips were white..

Advantage multi for heartworm?? --->

I have been using frontline plus and heartguard on my 2 EBs and was gonna switch to ADV-multi cause its "supposed" to do all of what these 2 do in the 1. Where I live we have mosquitos for sure so am concerned since this is a topical and not ingested that it may not work as well. Any1 have any opinions?? And I didn't see anywhere that ADV-multi does anything for ticks where frontline "supposedly" does.

I'm starting to think Dozer's cherry eye is stress related..

Last month we moved into a new house, Dozer's first move in his life. It was so stressful that the poor boy ended up with a cherry eye in his left eye. We massaged it back in and it wasn't a problem again for 2 months.Today i accidently dropped my cats litter box on poor Dozer's head and scared the bejesus outta him. It was empty and i'd just cleaned it. I tripped and the box went flying right into Dozer's noggin.
