I'm starting to think Dozer's cherry eye is stress related..

Last month we moved into a new house, Dozer's first move in his life. It was so stressful that the poor boy ended up with a cherry eye in his left eye. We massaged it back in and it wasn't a problem again for 2 months.Today i accidently dropped my cats litter box on poor Dozer's head and scared the bejesus outta him. It was empty and i'd just cleaned it. I tripped and the box went flying right into Dozer's noggin. He freaked and ran off scared to death, i went after to calm him down and sure enough the cherry eye was back in full force and his eye was fine just a few minutes before the incident. I massaged it back in again but i'm starting to wonder, does severe stress cause this?

I agree with the stress part

Whe you dropped the litterbox on his head, he physically stressed the cherry eye popped out. When my dog a sharpei would stress it popped out, I had his surgiclly put back in and never had the problem again. Also had this done with five other of my dogs. Spike's being the worst of them.

It really seems to only happen when..

he gets scared and super freaked out. During the move the time he got it we were yelling, and boxes everywhere and Dozer got stepped on. Im thinking theres a connection..

could be....

their is no real explanation of cherry eye or why it happens....the only time wilson ever ad a cherry eye was when he was sick....we were able to massage it back in and have never had a problem....charlie got his cherry eye 3 days after he was flown to me...i had to have it surgicaly removed....
so maybe it is some times stress related...

stress

Matilda has cherry eye in her left eye every time she is not feeling well, It is always our clue that something is not right and nine times out of ten we find ourselves at the Vets. office within a few days of cherry eye pop out. She is six so after all these years we are as sure as we can be that cherry eye, in her case, is due to stress within her body.
