Audrey's labwork came back-Titer help needed!

She had her one year checkup, and I had the full blood panel done, including titers. I wanted to have a good baseline for future reference, plus since I am feeding her a raw diet I wanted reassurance that all was well with her.
Everything came back perfectly normal! YAY!
heartworm was negative too.
She had a very strong positive for the parvo titer, so he said she's very well proteced against parvo.

We got a SWEET deal on meat! 25 cents a meal!

I tell you, this is exciting! My husband just found 2 packs of stew beef and 2 packs of ground beef on sale in a package, that was just enough to feed all 3 dogs for 2 days. It worked out to a quarter a meal!
Can't beat that!

Hello everyone...

My babies will be 3 weeks old in a couple of days and I was wondering when do I start the transition from nursing to solid food?

Thanks for everyone's help, it has been so valuable to me! I will get some pics posted soon!

Arnica Montant and Melatonin?

Hi,

Lucy has very bad arthritis and I really want to get her off of Rimadyl. She is currently on Dasuquin. It's too early to see if that helps.

I want to try Arnica Montana. Does anybody know if this is safe in the long run?

Also - I heard Melatonin helps w/ shedding. Any idea how much and how often?

Vit D and Flank Alopecia (not sure I spelled that right)

I know there are some posts on here somewhere about this, but I am having trouble finding them. My girl has started to loose hair on her sides and back. I think it is seasonal alopecia. I had a suggestion to give Vit D supplement but unsure of the dose. Does any one know?

3 day old bullys

my 3 day old puppies are doing good. 2 have gained a ounce and the other 4 are still the same weight. Is this good? They range in size from 6 to 8 ounces. How much weight gain should I be lookin for. They eat for 20 mins every 2 1/2 hrs. Moms milk seems to be fine. They are pretty content after they eat, they go to sleep and do not fuss . I am taking this as a good sign. They are pooing and peeing fine and are not raspy sounding when they breathe so I dont think they are aspirating. Jusy kinda wondering a little nervous still.

puppy turns blue while eating

i have 7 2 day old puppies and 3 of them have suddenly turned blue while nursing. After I have stimulated them then they are fine. they are all eating good and not fussy in the basket. It only last for a second and then they are fine. Just wondering if any one had any ideas why

Raw video

Hope this works...I made a short video of Teela eating a raw full chicken back for those who are worried about choking on bones. It's king of boring but I thought it might help any new raw feeders. You can see that she tried to swallow, it was too big so she just chews it again. She is just over a year old and has never had any issues eating whole bones. She was not impressed with the extra attention during her dinner happy.gif

Orijen 6 fish

I decided to try grain free for Mr. Higgins to attempt to clear up his persistent sore toes.
I put him on the Orijen Jan 23.
This past week he went in for heartworm test and a blood profile. His creatinine and BUN were quite elevated.
I am hoping the cause is the Orijen. It has 44% protein!
Not sure what I was thinking. I hope and pray the food is the cause. Now he is on Hills KD which really bugs me, but now I have no choice. Anyone else have this issue from food?
