How can an eight (almost nine) week old poop 8 times in 24 hours? All of them were nicely formed, firm, ice-cream-cone-like piles, but 8!?! Seriously, my legs are sore from going up and down the darn stairs (I live on the 3rd floor).
Throw in two dozen more pee trips and there has to be some kind of record here:
A. Most poops (non-diarrhetic category) in 24 hours for an 8-wk old? Winner... BOB!
B. Most stairs descended and ascended (from a 3rd floor apartment) in a 24 hour period (in the pooping peeing category)? Winner... G & J!
I think I got these both locked down! "Hoorah!" for me and "Yippee!" for Bob!
Seriously, do all puppies go this often? Or does my dog think I could use some exercise?
Met your match
For the first week I got my 8 week old pup, he also pooped 8 times a day- literally. I also live on the third floor but I at least have an elevator! Don't worry, it will get better.
Dolly...
No, we never give him people food. But I am afraid he may eat an acorn every now and then outside. I just can't prevent that completely...we have many oak trees in our yard. See my post above...he's better today! Thanks a lot, Dolly!
Janis
poor bully!
Janis,
Could you have given him some people food that just didn't agree with him or could he have gotten into something?
d
Poop
I hear you
Buddy is now 15 months old and i have never come across a dog that poops as much. If i dont get to clean it up straight away its like dot to dot round my garden.

My Guinness poops a lot too!
He is 11 weeks old and he poops 7 - 8 times a day.
You wonder how he could gain any weight with so much coming back out
come on, we named her before we knew how much she defecated! lol

Bulldozer use to do the same but we called it puppy-whips. Nasty.
Re: poop>>>>>>>>>> ewwwwwwwwww
Cripes, totally misread the post. Thought you said, "firmness champ" not "fitness". Hence my toe comment...
Nevermind.
*note to self: two more cups of coffee before attempting to post and / or be witty*

Yup, I like the way it squishes between my toes... err...
Firm or not, it's all just poop to me now.

Can you tell that it is the beginning of a slow day at work for me?
G & J, the post whores.
GAH! No fair having a dog named after the record... cheater (n/m
poop>>>>>>>>>> ewwwwwwwwww
The younger the pup the more often potty, lol, you ought to be a fitness champ by now, lol!!
Guinness's Book of World Records--hahaha
Guinness can probably beat that record! She is 11 weeks old and all she does is poop and pee! She is truly a poop monster! In the morning when she wakes up she poops 3 times in a row! She is amazing! You are not alone, and don't worry it doesn't last too long. Soon enough they will both slow down in the waste department!
Nutro Lamb & Rice Small Bite (adult formula)
...that, water, and Bil-Jack liver treats (for doing a good job of turding). The treats are limited to 2 a day (we break them in half, so 2 total but 4 occasions).
G & J
congrats!!
haha. yay for bob the best pooper!
at least its always outside!! haha.
what are you feeding? puppies do poop lots
liz
Don't really know...
He's been eating like a horse, as usual, but yesterday I noticed his stools were looser than usual. Today when I came home for lunch to feed him, he did have a very loose stool after eating. He NEVER poops in his crate, so I was very surprised to find that mess when I got home...but of course he couldn't help it with diarrhea. I'm sure it bothered him a LOT having to wait on me to come home and let him out!
I gave him a Pepto-bismol chewable late this afternoon and I am cooking white rice to feed him. Wanted to try to see if we could get him better without a vet visit this time.
Thanks for your concern, Dolly. Hopefully he'll be better tomorrow!
Janis
Janis, WHY??
What's going on with him?
SPEAKING OF POOP....................
Petey had diarrhea (can't even think how to spell it!) today IN HIS CRATE!!! He also had it all over himself. Took me at least an hour to get the crate and mat beneath it clean. He has been hosed off, but I haven't had the energy to give him a bath yet. My hubby is out of town, OF COURSE!!! Honestly, I was thinking of having a lottery on here tonight and seeing who would win him. He sure is cute but I'm SICK OF POOP and ESPECIALLY DIARRHEA!!!!
(thanks for letting me rant...I needed it!)
Janis
THE SMELL?
Kacee's is NOT always outside. She prefers nice soft carpeting! And, while I am thinking about it, both of my pups get Nutra Max Puppy. Kacee is 5 months old, Giz is 7 months old, and from the day we got Kacee her poop smells 100 times as bad as Giz's. Is it just something with bulldogs that their poop stinks more than other breeds? And, she goes more often than any other dog I have ever seen! Bless her heart, she IS getting better as she gets older and most(but not all)of the time will go to the door now. Sure beats finding the surprises all over the house!
poop record
Oscar pooped that much at that age - it does get better. At 1 1/2 he goes once a day now, occasionally twice but no more than that.
