1st - sorry to be posting so much. I just miss you guys!
Anyway..
My buddy posted an online beauty contest of his dog (a black lab) and Lucy - the bullie. He always calls my dog ugly and it really offends me. I told him Lucy is cute and everybody who meets her...LOVES her (if they like dogs).
So, without my consent, he downloaded a pic of Lucy from my Facebook page and started this poll. Everyone (well, technically all of his friends) said Lucy was ugly and voted for the lab. I was so hurt! This kinda fractured our friendship. Am I being silly and sensitive?
That is rude...
seriously, what kind of "friend" does something like that?

Good point, Cathy!
Ha, ha!!
So where can we go to vote on this poll?
BDW can blow his lab out of the water.

I agree about labs
they ALL look alike! How many times have you seen stories where owners took home the wrong lab from a kennel amd didn't even realize it for DAYS, because physically they all look the same? Their dippy personality grates on my nerves too. I love my laid back, UNIQUE, most gorgeous dog on the planet bulldog.
I also think that your "friend" is not much of a friend.
Cathy
when she first came home
I would "delete" that friend...my story..
I took my beautiful Marley to the local parade this past weekend. She must of had at least 25 people ask for her pic...Everyone said how beautiful she was..except for 2 men...One said,"look at the ugly dog" I just told him she (Marley) thought he was just as ugly..He look shocked and walked off.The other guy said it when my kids were waiting for me to bring the car up to them.My son said that same thing..she thinks your ugly.lol...they shut up real quick...
for me, I never seen a more beautiful animal in my life till I saw my first bully:)
oh yeah, the local paper took our pic and posted it..she can't be THAT ugly:P
much bully love~Christine, Dupree, Marley and Savannah
I was talking about "lab snobs" just on Friday
It seems they tend to be worst than some other breed snobs.
This "friend" knows you love your dog, and just based on that, he should respect you enough not to do what he did. I think it was really mean. So, you're not being overly sensitive.
P.S. I think Lucy is gorgeous!
Wow I think that is really rude of your friend, everyone has dif
know that honestly there are some breeds out there that I just would never want to snuggle up with, but I would NEVER hurt the owners feelings and ever call them ugly b.c. to that person that pooch is probably the cutest thing ever.. i can't even walk by my Bella with out touching her face and kissing her..
Hope everyone has a great day
Does not sound like much of a 'friend' to me
I have had a few people call Toby ugly, but usually people think he's cute and just love him. Whenever I take him places, he is the star and gets a lot of attention.
Even if someone thinks your dog is ugly, it is just beyond rude to tell you that. If I was you, I would put up a picture of your so-called friend and a picture of Brad Pitt and start a poll about which one people thinks is ugly. See how that makes your 'friend' feel.
Janice
Sounds as if HE has the problem
a little inferior maybe and just plain mean, I would post a picture of him and put another friend up too and ask who was more handsome, that should show him how hurtful he is to you. Some people have no brains!!!!!!
What a jerk!
Who needs friends like that
We all know bullies are the most beloved, beautiful dogs on the
And that's all that really matters!
beauty
is in the eye of the beholder. i guess that would bother me some, but you KNOW the truth and it is too bad he doesn't. that was a pretty rude thing for him to do to you.....

Gary's statement is so very true...
I also agree with administering a good hit over the head with a frying pan!
Your "friend" is not much of a friend, in my opinion.
You guys are the best!
Thanks for the advice! I feel better. They are the cutest dogs ever. And once one has your heart...there is no turning back!
There is not one thing ugly about a Bullie!
It just shows that beauty and ugly is in the eye of the beholder. I think Bullies are the most expressive dogs on the planet. Each Bully face is different and unique. Labs...you seen one you've seen them all. See I'm totally prejudiced against labs!
No, not sensitive
I get my panties in a bunch when people say ugly things about my Dreadnought, but WAAAAAAY more people tell me how cute and beautiful he is. I prefer to listen to the ones that know what they are talking about. I would be angry that he downloaded a picture of your baby without your permission. Some people just don't get it and think they are being funny. I'm sure Lucy is a beautiful lady!!!
You are not silly.
You may be sensitive, though. Ask your friend if he meant to hurt your feelings. Explain that you and a lot of people think your bullie is beautiful and that his holing the so-called contest hurt your feelings a lot.
If he says he's sorry, then he's a friend. If he laughs this off, you can tell him that you think he is mean and you aren't friends with mean people. Make sure you let him know how sorry you are to end the friendship. Don't respond in anger as that will not solve the problem, even if he is not sorry. Take the high road on this.
This issue here is not if your bullie if beautiful or if he thinks your bullie is not beautiful. It's that he did something insensitive. He may not realize it and if you explain it, it will be a chance for you to see his true colors.
Woof!
I'm sensitive like that too.
I can't believe my dad's wife (we are actually good friends) still says my dogs are ugly. I have sent so many cute pictures to her, I just don't see how she can still say they are ugly. The bad thing is, I don't think she's kidding when she makes fun of them. She's not much of an animal person anyway, so what does she know!

Because unkindness and ignorance so often go hand in hand
the best thing, perhaps, is to not let him know he is getting to you, because if he does, he will keep it up. Instead, just say something like "you are such a sad little person, you will never understand what is it like to truly love one of God's creations." Then hit him over the head with a frying pan, [g].
