What is a "reverse brindle"?

I saw some Bullie pups advertised as reverse brindles. It was hard to make out much in the pic, they just looked very dark. And I don't see that color name listed in the BDW color article. Just curious. Thanks!

It's...

black fur with brown/red stripes.

As opposed to brindle that's fawn/red with black stripes.

As far as I understand...

A brindle is dark marking on a lighter coat. The reverse brindle is just that - lighter markings on a darker coat. Of course, I'm probably incorrect...

Yes, reverse brindle is fine and...

is really beautiful is there's enough white to offset it.

Re: What is a "reverse brindle"?

yes its almost black

Oh, thanks for the pics!!!

The pics really answered my questions!
I love brindles too & I like Taz's dark color & Mabel is a beauty. But you know the one I want to reach out & smooch is that little Sid! What a doll he is & I really love his color & markings. Also I can't resist a baby Bullie AND my husband's name is also Sid!!! LOL
Thanks again!

Many thanks...

I appreciate the education!

My foster Taz looked like a reverse brindle......I think:) *pic*

Some brindles look predominantly dark with only small amounts of color and I sort of assumed this was reverse.

Taz - A reverse brindle ???

Sid - A red brindle (I believe)

And Mabel - A fawn brindle (this one I know:)

I sort of love brindles

Again, as far as I know...

Which is a fairly short distance... the only color considered "undesirable" is black and that does not include a dark brindle. However, the only disqualification is the funny colored nose.

Thank you, Rotti & Sue & now another ???? for you...

Is the reverse brindle considered desirable or at least OK? Or a color to be avoided?
