I know this has been done so many times before, but if everyone could post the name of the food they feed and whether they are satisfied or not just in the post title, I would appreciate it. Just taking a poll.

bulldogs when they were puppies. I can't recall the reasons why, tho. You may want to post a new message at the top of the board asking them why. But I know Flynn didn't have any problems on the Large Breed formula, which is an adult food.

but if you prefer not to, there is also a Puppy version of the Super 5 Mix.
One thing I like about the Large Breed formula is that it is one of the few dry dog foods I found that has a meat/protein ingredient as the first three ingredients. A lot of the healthier dry foods have meat/protein ingredients as the first ingredient, or the first two ingredients, but few have it as the first three.
With Wellness, tho, you have to be real careful about the particular formula. They have so many formulas that it can make your head spin. When I first tried Wellness, I almost gave up on it. I was buying another version of the Super 5 Mix. I can't recall exactly what it was called, but it was not the Large Breed formula. It was something like the "Adult - Complete Health" formula. And it gave all of my dogs very runny stool for about two weeks. I was about to give up on Wellness until one of the store's employees (who also happens to be the trainer who trained Boo and Clovis at Petsmart before she lost her job there due to Hurricane Katrina) told me I should feed the Large Breed formula to a bulldog. She told me she had had the same problem of runny poop when she tried that other formula on her own dogs.

At the suggestion of my vet, I'm planning on giving puppy kibble to Tuffy for one more month (he'll be five months old then) and then switching to an als adult. My breeder didn't even believe in giving puppy kibble because of the protein levels but now a lot of dog people are saying it's not necessarily the protein level that matters with these large breed dogs but the calcium/phosphorus levels. The ideal from what I've heard is 1.3 Calcium; 1.0 phosphorus. In any event I'm still aiming for approximate 20-25% protein level. There is so much info out there it can definitely be overwhelming!
I'm transitioning him off that food and trying out Fromm. C. Natural is good food with limited ingredients but it's not the right food for my little guy because he has soft stool issues on that food. Same with the chicken and rice puppy formula. I've never tried the adult formula of C. Natural so you might have a different experience.
Glad to hear it's worked for you. Tuffy is around 23 weeks old and I'm looking for the right dog food to firm up that poop! Nothing I've tried thus far (probiotics, digestive enzymes, pumpkin, cottage cheese, yogurt, etc. etc) has worked.... He's been on Fromm, C. Natural and Canidae with the same result... I'm considering trying Wellness next.
I'd love to know more about that beautiful bulldog. Before I got Tuffy I'd pin the print ad for the Iams ad on the fridge to convince my hubby to let me get a bully!

I feed the Kirkland Chicken, Rice & Veggies. They've done great on it--though certain times of year Gabe & Chubbs will get red eyes (seems to be from outside pollens, etc.) Gabe & Pip have a tendency to get yeasty ears, but they respond well to cleaning with vinegar/water & occasional Mometamax.

for a long, long time, Boo had smelly ears and a messy butt. Since I put her on this formula, all of that cleared up practically overnight. And her stools are very firm, tho it gave the other dogs loose stools for about a week.
I may soon try Eukanuba Naturally Wild, tho, for Clovis and Scout.

I have been looking at this for Mason since I can't find a dry food without ingredients he is allergic to in it. I didn't know if you added veggies to the meat or if you just got the blend with the veggies already in it.

He loves it. I switched him over to it at about 6 months so that means he's been on it for a year now. No issues with soft stools... yet. I also mix in some white meat chicken every day too. Oh, he's on the adult formula.

is how to do it? I free-feed, but I can change that I guess. Is it pre-packaged? How difficult is it to feed raw? I cant bring myself to hand Booger a Tyson fryer chicken and let him eat it on my kitchen floor. I just cant do it!

Love them both. Orijen was too rich for Oliver so we have him on the Wellness Core Ocean Formula and he is doing really well, first firm poops in quite some time...YAY!! We also give them some probiotic powder and fish oil.

we really didn't like the taste of it but luckily Hurley loves! just kidding! Hurley does love it and we have tried switching to several different brands and different flavors, however, this current one is the only one that has not caused any allergy issues for Hurley. Her tear stains cleared up, poops are fine, no more hot spots. So far so good!

I fed made by PetCurean. If I go back to kibble I will go back to "Now". Wendy if it is available in your area I highly recommend this kibble. Check out the ingredients.
If you can afford feeding the RAW ... I don't think my dogs coats have ever looked so nice. Infact I was looking at Ester this morning telling her how beautiful her coat looked. Slick and shiney and I feed no other supplements, just the joint stuff. Unfortunately it is expensive especially if you are feeding more then 1.

it has a high fat content and I only feed it because it's almost impossible to find a food he is not allergic to. I throw in some Wellness Simple Solutions here and there too, home cooked buffalo and canned salmon with no salt.

Bella had really bad skin issues as a pup and I switched her to the bulldog 24 and she cleared right up. I will not be changing foods ... both my bulldogs are in good condition and love the food too..so why change??
Great post, Wendy! I'm interested in hearing your responses! I currently feed Salmon a la vegetable with a little California Natural puppy mixed in for transitional purposes. I'm almost done with the C. natural so I'll be going straight to Fromm. My dog loves the food and seems to be thriving on it but he has loose stools (He's had it ever since he was a pup) so other than the loose poop he's doing well. I'm still searching for the right food!
I did the herring and potato- he did ok but I recently
switched to Nature's Variety Salmon and he seems to like it better.
Yep, that's Munch!
Some BDW people here know him. I think he has a facebook page. Bet you could find out more if you Google his name. I love Munch too!
