I want someone to tell me the correct way to lift a bulldog.
when I was at the vets the other day..the vet assistant is this tiny little thing and she lifted Gus no problem at all.. just up he went. I find it a real struggle to get him up on the table.
there must be an easy way to do this
forgot to ask at the vets how to do it properly.
Gus is 53 pounds since he lost 4 and half pounds.
Bella is 44 pounds
I see it with all the show dogs..they just seem to just lift them up soo easy.
what is the secret to lifting a bulldog??
thanks for your help
Pat
Yes ... That is how I do it
if I have to lift, like on the show ramp. I try to do the butt boost most of the time.
Seems to work best with the heavy weights and you are less apt to drop them. If you do you are both going down
thanks..PICS would really help..
hard to explain it on a message board
pics would really help
thanks
would make it easier to understand..
Arm under the butt, arm around the chest is how I do it.
I do support their butts and around the front of the chest.
but still ...
I also have a little foot stool that they use to help themselves up on the couch
and steps by the bed..
but there must be an easy way to lift them up.
Being a tech this is how I was taught in school.....
two ways..... first way is hand and forearm between front legs and hand between back legs and I slightly tilt them into me.... that is the proper way especially for a pregnant bitch you want to support her backend by her pelvis not abdomen.... the other proper way is arm around chest and hand between back legs or around butt the second way is good for really big dogs but again you must be careful when lifting a pregnant bitch by the second method because you can squeeze her abdomen......
hope this helps... do you need pictures?
