Gretl and I schlepped into NY today for her spay. I dropped her off at 9am, headed to the Bronx Zoo to take photos of non-existent animals even though it was GORGEOUS today and they SHOULD have been let out, got the call she was out and awake at noon, headed up to play with her siblings and Christie for a couple hours, went to lunch with Christie, and before I could even blink, she was ready to come home!
She did phenomenally in surgery. The vet said something like she was "perfect" for spaying because everything was in the absolute perfect place, making it all very easy to take out. Her trachea tube was a size 7. And she came out wiggling as if nothing happened!
She slept the whole (very long) ride home (thanks NYC commuter rush hour) and is playing with her toys right now. She's acting like she's about 10 years old, just kinda hanging out... not her insane, crazy self... it's obvious she's sore and tired, but she's perky and wants to play with her toys.
Fingers crossed everything stays going this way tonight and tomorrow!
A couple pics later. She's so darn cute... I can never resist, even as pathetic as she looks.

Julia - who did the spay?
Just wondering if it's a vet I know from when we lived in NYC.
Glad she's doing well, you must be so relieved to have her home safe and sound.
Happy to hear
that she did great ! I hope your night was a quiet one but I am sure you slept with one eye open

Glad to hear she did well!
You must be so relieved. It was a gorgeous day for the Bronx zoo. Sounds like you live in the tri-state area! I'm a CT person myself and am about an hour from the city!

much bully love~Christine, Dupree, Marley and Savannah
What mean mommies schedule major surgeries on a holiday?!?! =)
We are awful.
I'm sorry Farley had a tough go... I'm glad he's home and ok now though. Grelt finally just fell asleep after looking more pathetic than I've ever seen her for an hour, and crying.
I'm happier watching her sleep. LOL...

Farley (vizsla)got neutered today and it didn't go all that great. They finally called to come get him at 7--he was so upset. He is now crashed--hope he stays ok.
I hope you have an uneventful night too. Guess it really wasn't the luck of the Irish with our 2 today...LOL
wonderful
but I knew she would do great. So, are ya telling me you didn't get to even see the panthers or tigers?
If ya need me, call - I'm around tonight and most of the day tomorrow.

Excellent!
I'm sure she'll be back to her rambunctious self in no time!
Pretty Please...
She came out WIGGLING?!
Go Gretl! When we got Stella spayed, she stayed overnight and, when we came in the next morning after a sleepless night, she ran right to the vet and gave us the stinkey! We made up in the car later but it was pretty funny.
Glad to hear our girl did so well.
Glad to hear that she did well
and is back home with you. Buttercup was like that- she acted like nothing had happened at all.
I'm sure she'll be back to norman very soon and running you ragged

Glad it all went well
Just keep an eye on the incision and try to not let her run crazy for a few days and she should be all well in no time.
Look at these girls...I think they could be twins
Glad you're in safe and sound!
Sorry about that traffic... I was thinking that may be a problem!
Great to see you today, had a lot of fun! And great to hear Gretl came through with flying colors, I knew she would, she's perfect
Happy to hear good news!
Hugs to this patient.
