Maya is scheduled to be spayed on October 8th. I'm so nervous and know the tension will only mount. We have the very best bully vet in North Texas and I trust him completely but can't help but be nervous. Someone tell me it will be ok and my little one will be up and about in no time. One of the vet techs said it only takes a day or so for them to bounce back. Is that true? Doesn't seem like long.

Nope no calming down
It's hard to get us down here in TX you know that. So enjoy the one day you will have peace and quiet ( the day she is in surgery) it's the zooms after that. hahaha
Don't worry I'm sure she will be fine. Let me know if you need some one up there. Your just 3 hours away.
Thanks to everyone!! And note to Judy.
I really needed the words of encouragement. We're counting down the days...
But Judy... you mean the spay won't calm her down - just a little?! Awww sh!t! Just kidding. I love my little bundle of hyperactivity, keeps me on my toes... and sometimes my knees, and hands, and flat on my back, my tiptoes.....
she will be fine
Lily was spayed on August 18 and boy was I worried. She did fine. She stayed overnight one night at the vet but she was awake that night. Brought her home the next day and couldn't stop her at all. Everything healed so nice. But I know what you are going through. I was worried all day until I spoke to the vet late that afternoon.
Not to worry us texans are tough
She will bounce back fast. Before you know it she will be running and a zooming .
ariane....
i don't know anything about that operation, but my vito had eye surgery not too long ago! i totally understand being nervous, i was a wreck. but like you i had total trust in my vet, and that's important. vito was his crazy self the next day! i will keep you both in my prayers!
carrie & vito
She will be fine
Dooley was neutered and had cherry eye surgery (both eyes) at the same time and it went very well. He was up and about in no time.
Don't you even worry.
Ariane,
I worked at a Vet's office for a couple of months (volunteer stuff mostly) and beleive me, it's such a common procedure she'll be fine. You are right to be scared tho, if you didn't worry about your baby I would have to wonder why you were on this site... heheh
When my Rudy had his "special day" (I wasn't working there at the time) they told me he couldn't come home untill he woke up from the anesthesia (sp) and could walk on his own. They called me right away and he was walking right away. One thing tho - you must spoil them for at least 1 - 2 weeks after, doctor's orders.
Try not to worry and whenever you need to vent just post and hopefully you'll feel better.
