Hello, I met a couple today at work who has a Victorian Bulldog. He is two yrs old and white with brown patches, he is taller than the standard bulldog, and thinner, he had beautful blue eyes!!! Has anyone heard of this? I asked them if he was an Old English Bulldog, but they said Victrian....Just curious... Thanks!
Ooops, didnt mean to post twice!
No, I own a pure bread
English Bulldog, according to the Bulldog specialist he is a "standard" Bulldog. He has papers. I was asking what a Victorian bulldog was because I have never heard or seen that type. I have been posting on this site since my bulldog was born, he is now 6 yrs old. I ask questions here that get honest and intelligent answers and I appreciate that. It seems as though you were offended with my question. I did not stir anything up as you can see. If you re-read my post you will see that it was a simple honest question. No need to get upset.

Oh np Amber, didnt mean to offend.. :-)
Sorry if it came across rude, no ill intentions meant. It's just that those breeds can sneak in and before you know it forums and boards are over run with people spouting the wisdom of breeds like Labradoodles, Malti-poos ect... Have to be careful around here because in the end it really is all about what breeds are accepted and what aren't. If you own a mix great, i myself recently adopted a cocker from a kill shelter. But they aren't real, widely known, and AKC accepted breeds so in effect they are just mixes or aka mutts. But all of them need love and happy homes.
Pardon me....
I just aksed a simple question. I had never heard of the breed before. Sorry to have as you said, made you mad in mentioning it.
I agree Deb.
I have another forum i use for dog stuff as well and we are forever having to explain to uneducated people the differences between real accepted breeds and designer breeds. I know all dogs need love but after adopting my Danny last week and seeing how many poor pups end up in our local kill shelter i just cringe when someone mentions a designer breed. Maybe someday dogs like the Olde and Victorian will find there way into accepted breed organizations like the AKC but until then its hard to not get mad when people mention them.
Not a recognized breed
Unfortunately these people that breed mixed dogs do so IMO without any respect of the Bulldog breed.
I know there are people on this forum with Pits, Olde's, Victorian's and other mixed breeds that are not recognized and feel differently then I do which is fine but this forum is dedicated to the Bulldog breed and we should discourage the breeding of mixed breeds.
It's no different the a Labradoodle or Snorkie or any of the other mixed breeds that I will can mutts. Sorry people don't like that term but it is what it is and people charge ridiculous amounts for these dogs. They also dupe buyers into believing they are buying a Bulldog when they are buying a mixed breed dog. Unfortunately there are still plenty of buyers that don't have a clue what a bulldog should look like and don't educate themselves prior to buying a puppy.
My sister got a litter of Pit Bull puppies dumped on her and she had a horrible time trying to find them homes. No pit rescue would take them and the Human Society wanted her to pay them to take them. That's the reality of breeders that breed for money.
Just because it has a muzzle doesn't mean it's not going to have health problems. It can still have palette problems as well as pinched nares and as we've heard from others with mixed breeds they too have plenty of health problems.
Jackie O's ...Jenny has one already...
she is getting two victorian puppies soon
she can likely tell you the differences
yes there are what they call victorian bulldogs
I was told it more boxer and english bulldog in the victorian not sure
Lol You 're too funny!
I am more attracted to the "standard" Bulldog myself! lol
I have decided to start breeding Old New Victorian Spanglish Eng
just kidding. I have no idea if a Victorian really isn't different from an Old English. They look the same to me but I don't have much of an eye for breed details.

Yes!
Exactlly what this one looked like. Your dog is so cute!
I ran across this when we were searching for Georgia..
I ran across a breeder that said we have Victorian Bulldogs--I was confused as I had never heard of them. Apparently it is amercian bulldog mixed with an english bulldog-so that the snout is longer better breathing .They have a less wrinkled face and a little taller leg.
Oops-designer dog!
And always .....Winston
Sounds like another desiner dog to me. nm
And always .....Winston
Didn't make me mad,lol...
