sounds like a really neat cat. I have always been a cat lover. I hope it is just Harry's tooth and nothing more. My parents where very irresponsible animal owners wen I was a kid and they didn't spay or neuter our cats. We lived n the country and had many litters of kittens. I was the little girl in the neighborhood that was always going around trying to find homes for all of our baby kittens so they didn't end up at the pound. I think that is where my passion for all animals came from & for stray animals. You seem to have a soft spot too

and Harry is ok:) I also have 2 Himi's.I lost one to old age in Oct.He lived to be 17!

and Harry is so beautiful. I took in a stray cat several years ago who was skin and bones and full of scars all over his face and ears. Before I started letting him in my apartment, I started putting food out by my door. I noticed he would cry while he was eating. Back then I knew so little about cats that I thought he was just crying for joy because he now had a steady supply of food as opposed to going hungry so many times, as was indicated by how thin he was. After a couple of weeks he actually let me pick him up, tho it was probably becuz he was so weak. I managed to get him into a crate and took him to the vet. It turned out that both of his canines had been ripped out, probably by fighting with other tomcats, according to the vet. Thus, I have an idea of what Harry has felt recently. The good news is that it was an easy problem to fix. I have no doubt Harry will be back to his old self in no time at all.

BTW, that cat of mine was my first pet named Clovis. Then when he passed away from feline HIV about two years later, I bot my first bulldog and named her Clovis too. And later I got my current Clovis.

and Harry still has his broken tooth. Vet says it has been that way for a while He is on pain meds for the next few days. He has lost 2 lbs in the last year or so, weighs 6 lbs. he is nothing but a 'hair' ball. She told a senior blood panel, to see if there is something else going on with him since he has b een acting so unlike himself. During his exam, he cried out in pain Will know more tomorrow and decide when the tooth will come out. Thanks everyone for thinking good thoughts for my sweet Harry. Even non-cat people tend to like this smush face guy!

What an adorable kitty. I hope he feels better soon. I had a cat who quit eating and then had a bad smell coming from his mouth. It turned out he had bitten his tongue really badly and it was infected. Poor kitty!

Harry 'gums' his food now, so losing one more tooth probably won't be a big deal. But the exposed nerve at this point is grossing me out!

but it is has to bother him..........

I hope they can just remove it. He had a dental cleaning a few years ago & doesn't have many back teeth. He is going to be the toothless cat! Yikes!
