The Tail of the Dragon......

This morning I was awoke by the unmistakable sound of a Bulldog about to vomit. I won't say which one it was, as not to embarass the guitly.... When out pops the green tail of the dragon. The dragon tail disappeared BEFORE Christmas! When I was picking up toys at the end of the day & discovered it missing, I searched high & low for that darn dragon tail, knowing it probably went down someone's hatch! How could it have remained in a Bulldog stomach for sooo long? I am lucky this didn't end up in a surgery! It is
2 1/2" long.... No wonder my hair is turning gray!

size..............

I am pretty sure it was the medium ball. It was supposed to be durabull...not so much. happy.gif

Is that the small or medium dragon ball?

I was just curious. I always get the large ball toys like that and they seem to be indestructible (except for the squeaker). My dogs will take pieces of the medium ones, and the small ones will be gone within a few minutes. I'm so glad nothing bad happened.

Dontcha just LOVE these crazy mutts?!

Isabella used to eat my underwear. I would change her diaper (she had Spina Bifida) and I would find a whole pair of underwear in there! Chewed up some, not quite looking like it did before, but whole non the less! She would eat rubber toys, blakets, hunks of whatever she could get her teeth into. That girl never did have any problem bringing it back up, from one end or the other!

wow good thing it came up

Holy moly............

that is unreal!! Henry was a garbage disposal. We pretty much only have Red Barn bones & Kongs in the house now. I have pulled an entire rope (super slimey) from down Tedi's throat, I'm sure he would have swallowed it whole, just like your Henry. My bullies before him, didn't do such things...........

Yup...

Henry was my first Bully and he chewed a rope loose from one of his toys at about 6 months old. I couldnt find it anywhere. I searched all over... under the couch- everywhere. We just assumed it had gone WAYYYYY under the couch, over a bar we had in the back and it was just "gone" where noone could reach it, etc. We never thought any more about it. Three months later, he barfed up the entire rope- knot and all- pieces of a plastic toy high heel shoe, a Barbie head, a small Matchbox car, pieces of the lawnmower and swingset, and 3 pieces of vinyl siding, along with a bunch of unrecognizable gunk. I had a Walmart bag half full of what he threw up that one time. That was our crash course in Bulldogs and that they are not only avid chewers, but swallow EVERYTHING! There has not been a rope toy in my house since!!

oh wow!

sorry your baby got sick. sad.gif The crazy things that we all discuss, hugh?

I saved it....

for no good reason. It was put away. It was for sure in his stomach the entire time. Impossible that it was hidden somewhere. I tore the house apart when it went missing. I emailed Patti & Dr. Sweet the picture, they thought it was wild. The worst part is, I don't buy these types of toys, it was a gift, I should have gotten rid of it right away.

oh brother....do I know that all too well!

Zoey and her squeeker that she ate at Christmas and developed pancreatitis before she pooped it out in April!

They really can make ya crazy, huh?!

Glad whichever one it was, they are okay!

what I want to know...

how come you still had the other half?? LOL So glad it came back up. Do you think maybe he found the tail recently and ate it, or has it been in his stomach all that time? I would think stomach acid would have deteriorated it more than that.

Well, whatever, I'm glad you've got all the pieces up and out!

Re: oh my

It does look pretty gross hugh? Tedi is my wild child happy.gif

oh my

look at how discolored the tail is - it was in there for so long, you are very lucky. That's a big ole piece.

Glad the baby is okay. Can I guess and say it was Tedi ? happy.gif

I hope he doesn't have a sore throat now from barfing that huge thing up and out.

Wow....

Glad he barfed it up. Scary stuff.

That was...

HE wasn't 4 months, he was about 5 years old.

Julia....

I know we both have dealt with the corn cobs... I didn't realize Grover had his in his stomach for so long too! Muzgy was about 4 months, and had surgery to remove it in either Jan or Feb as well.

Mugzy and Tillie relaxing by the fire

MY mom's dashound swallowed a corn cob when I was a kid..

and it totally obstructed everything
you could see the cob inside her
she was rushed in and it was removed..
scary stuff
that dog would put anything and everything in her mouth..

Yep, it was a Cuz toy.

I cut the feet off myself. The toy had been around for 8-9 months, no one even played with it, and then all of the sudden, bingo! They discovered it. The tail didn't come off for quite a while & when it did, I could tell the toy was 'pieced together' if you will. All joking aside, I am horrified that my dog barfed this thing up and that it has been sitting in his gut for so long. I am so THANKFUL that he is fine, I know it could have turned out so much diferent. A corn cob is very scary also. Sounds like we have been in the same shoes!

Wow!

I could see how that could happen. Glad your boy is doing fine now. I just don't get how this rubber toy piece has been in the belly of a dog for months, didn't get lodged somewhere (thank goodness) and just reappeared! It's a miracle! I do watch my dogs, and count toys etc.. Now, there are very few things that they are allowed to have due to things like this happening. Very scary!

Is that one of those 'Cuz' toys?

They are ridiculous! I can't believe places still sell those. First it was those balls with the feet. Now they have all sorts of other shapes and animals and things, and they are just as easily eaten!

Wow! I'm glad it was barfed up and didn't cause an obstruction. Isn't it scary to see it in such good shape? LOL... happy.gif Grover swallowed a corn cob years ago, unbeknownst to me, at the end of summer, and barfed it up in February. Amazing.

Glad everyone's ok!

THAT's the ONE we had to have surgically removed!!!

That is the same piece our vet removed from Sanford when he was 9 months old - little bugger.

I think I have a record though - he actually threw something else up that unbeknownst to me had been in his stomach for over 6 months! Can you believe it????? When it happened I had NO idea what it was or where it came from until my boyfriend said "remember that toy that you threw out because you thought it broke?" Turns out it happened 6 months earlier and I didn't give it another thought because I had no idea Sanford even played with the dang thing.

They are resilient little suckers our bulldogs. Of course now he doesn't get to chew ANYTHING smaller than a large (horse size) jolly ball because I'm not taking any chances with him.

Glad this came out without surgery for your baby!

sounds like us last night....bruce pooped out the arm of a plush

supposedly indestructible toys.... i trashed that thing last weel cause a little piese was chewed off.... didnt realize the whole arm was missing geeeze

those bullies shure keep you on your toese

huggs and sloppy kisses

jenny and bruce

oh my goodness..

wow..that is unreal
you are lucky that did not cause a blockage or something
that is a long time being in someone's tummy for..
glad they got sick and it got out though

Not the kind of record I want him to hold!

So you've been through it too hugh? I am not even sure how long ago the tail disappeared. I feel terrible sad.gif He didn't even miss a beat and went back to sleep.

Same thing happened here...

Ollie ate the leg off his blue rabbit and a week and a half later, it reappeared. But your guy must hold the record! Glad he's okay.

Good grief

I think I just got a couple of grey hairs hearing that story! Glad it's out!

Thank goodness

it finally came up without a problem. These guys could make money off the gray hair they give us!
