I walk Gretl in her bubblegum gear. Everyone thinks she's a boy because she's a bulldog.
So the pink leash, pink collar, pink harness, pink poop bag container, pink poop bags not scream "I am a girl"???
My question is... do owners of male dogs just buy leashes they like? Or do they buy according to gender of the beast? I always bought according to gender... hence why I've lost my mind with pink.
I guess Paris Hilton would probably answer that she outfits her dogs according to HER style, but what about everyone else? I always just assumed someone would know Gretl was a GIRL. My elderly neighbor's son kept calling Gretl "he" last night. LOL!

I have the same problem.
I bought a leash & collar with a Hawaiian print, light blue with pink flowers and always got the "how old is HE?".
I then resorted to putting a pink or purple t-shirt on her and people finally got the hint.

Winnie has her name in crystals!! Very Diva!
ROTFL!
Junior you are THE MAN!
I LOVE that fluffy pink blanket! That looks wonderfully cozy

Junior says real men are not color conscious...
They sleep in what feels good--
okay, this outfit was not pink, but he loved it anyway--
I don't rescue animals because I want to feel better about myself, or morally superior to anyone. The best part of my life with animals is the humility they teach and the humanity the foster.

So, I'm not a pink person
but Bailey, and now Cami wears a pink/orange/purple harness thingie
Cami wears a red rolled leather collar (bays was brown)
So, all that said, my daughter does, in fact, make her boy dogs wear pink. She says that she likes is so they wear it!!

Not on this planet
for males, I like to buy leashes that have dog bones on them, the saying Bad to the Bone, or stuff like that.
I do buy pink collars for my girls, but not pink leashes.

LOL! Oh YES Julia!
Gretl needs some Swarovski's! She needs the crystal AB's. They look stunning with pink! Or if you want to keep the pink cool toned, get the regular crystal....

People really are dumb
Audrey wears pink floral too, and she always gets called He. WTH? WHo would put pink flowers on a male anything???
My oldest daughter was always dressed super sicky sweet girly; pink, ruffles and lace, flowers, always in a dress, and STILL people would ask is it a boy or a girl! I got used to it by the time the third kid came along...

Pink For Boys ..... NO WAY
My husband wouldn't stand for it, LOL! We have those wide leather spiked collars Bill bought for Norbert and MacKenzie that have never even been on the dogs. I like the lupine collars and I just pick out what might look good on them. The only pink I have is Vicky L gave me a pink collar and flexi-leash for Cleo when she was a baby. I honestly really love the pink on the girls. Ester used it for a short time. Maybe if we have a baby boy this year he'll be wearing pink, hehehe.
I have always wanted to get Ester a pink patten leather collar with her name in those rhinestone/crystal letters. They were popular for bracelets several years ago.
No way!
Choppy wears only manly colors...but no tough guy hardware cuz he's perceived as too intimidating already. Stitch got a manly spike collar cuz he's a punk....but the boy has sensitive skin and it caused him to break out! Now the little guy has a cute "rasta" color themed collar that makes him look hip.
I think Gretl should branch out and move on to bling. Swaravski maybe?
Toby is way too manly to wear pink, lol
Of course he doesn't care, but my kids would! They are both boys and would die if their boy dog was wearing pink!
Toby wears a black harness and has a blue striped leash. If I saw a dog wearing a pink collar I would assume without hesitation it was a female.

Buford is always called a girl - I think because of his markings
Doesn't get
tuffer than that~! LOL
I come from a long line of bikers. Must be why I'm so bad @ss. LOL

Zap has a bright orange and black Harley Davidson *W00F* ! (eom)
I wear pink on my girl and red on my boy. Benny doesnt have one
My daughter wont let me put the pink leash on Diesel. She says it will humiliate him.
All of my cats have been male,
except the last one. I seem to prefer male dogs too, although I have twice as many bitches as I do dogs, and I know I prefer male cats. Come to think of it, my rabbit was male and so were both of my birds.
Pink = Girl. My response is always "bulldogs have mommies, too,
With a lighthearted voice with a little laugh.
Eveyone always says "he" and it gets me angry. But I always laugh it off and tell them that Mia says, "Dont hate me because I'm beautiful!"
I've noticed too...
That Dolly gets called "he" even when I introduce her as "Dolly"! LOL
I guess people think all Bullies are males...
Pretty Please...
I'd never make Onslow wear pink LOL
that would be "so embarrasing" his martingale style leash is red white and blue, his long line leash is green, he has an orange camo collar, a red collar with polar bears and all his harnesses are black. He's been mistaken for an odd looking pug but never a girl. LOL
When I see pink I think girl. =) And when I have a girl I'm going to be just like you Julia tons-o-pink. LOL

So true about cats, I grew up thinking dogs are boys and cats ar
My house still lives by that mantra and I refuse to believe otherwise!
And I did buy my girl-kitty a pink harness.
I've never had Mavie called a girl, but I would love to put a pu
I'm not sure hubby would be too impressed. Then again, I think my MALE Rottweiler looks amazing in hot pink, and keep staring at a hot pink collar in the pet store and say I can't do that to my manly dog.... I really think it's only a matter of time. I did get a purple collar on him (looks SO good next to the black and tan), but it's a Minnesota Vikings collar, so it's still tough LOL !
I do assume when I see a dog in pink that it is a girl though! I think Gretl is a beautiful, feminine girl and is very lucky to have all that pink!

Re: pink vs blue
Something I found interesting from when we lived in town and there were lots of kids around - the little kids could easily tell male from female dogs. No collars on the dogs to clue them and when the dogs were facing the kids, so no chance of 'nut checks' either. But once the kids get to be Jr High age, they seemed to have difficulty telling the individual dogs' sex. Always wondered why?
But you are correct, I think most people figure a big stout dog is male and a smaller, more dainty breed is female, and cats are usually pegged as female too.
Stella gets called a boy all the time too!
She has a pink leash with red cherries on it, one with red roses, and another with pink birds on a yellow background.
What can I say...
People who are not in the know...call any dog a 'HE'
Ruby is always referred to as him, he...and then I correct them and they can see she is a she!
