he's going to the dreaded v-e-t tomorrow at 11:45. He's had what looks like hives popping out on his back. I've been giving benadryl on and off for about a week but they aren't going away and seem to really be itching him (no scabs or anything) =( He's been laying on the floor trying to scratch his back. So I'm going to take him in tomorrow to rule out a staph infection or get him something to help him be more comfortable and figure out what's going on. It seems I always have to take him in March/April for some kind of skin thing. Darn seasonal allergies. I really think it's the grass but haven't got the testing done yet.
Wish us luck. He's a big bundle of nerves as soon as he sees the vet. He shakes, quivers hides behind the chair....so pathetic. I feel sorry for the vet because I KNOW it makes her feel bad. LOL I have to usually shove him over to her. He has at times tried to hide under me or my shirt. It makes me laugh when people think he's mean he's such a big baby.

Zap is the opposite, he loves the vet..
he goes in butt wigglin', pees a few times and says hi to all the dogs. He goes in the exam room and lays down and waits for Dr. Pete to come in.

that's strange
about the fur growing back in. Hmmm his could be a minor infection. Thanks for the info we'll have to see what they tell us tomorrow. I'm glad Stella finally got over that. Sounds awfully uncomfortable for her.

oh boy...
not the dreaded V E T. good luck lisa- mack is a huge baby too, everything is fine until we get in the exam room and then its "oh cwap i wemember dis pwace"
Kind of scaley, yes
Not really open sores though, just red and they would get a bit crusty (not be be gross).
This time they also evolved into big rings. We kept calling her "crop circle girl" because she was covered with this big, red rings (I know, not funny but it was, kinda). Interestingly, when the hair grew back on several of the "crop circles" it grew back in round mounds that are whiter than the rest of her coat. Weird dog...
Don't know about Bruno
but I'm most positive Onslow would protest. LOL He's terrible about stuff on his feet. One time I had to wrap it and he was just impossible. I think I finally gave up.

Did she have
open sores Celine or just bumps? It's been awhile since he's had staph, I think last time it was scabby open sores (not to be gross) LOL.
Onslow does not perk up until he sees the exit. Make WAY COMIN THRU!!!!!!!!!! LOL

Mum's the word
Poor little ding dong... I hope it's not a staph infection because Stella's recent one was a bi&ch to get rid of. Hope it is just a little grass allergy.
Stella has grown more apprehensive about the vet's since the whole eye saga - but who can blame her! She buckles down her back legs and walks low to the ground even though my vet gives her and enthusiastic "Hey Stell!" when she comes in. But she usually perks up eventually.
Thank you!
he's going to be so mad tomorrow. LOL

Poor guy! Our lab is scared too.
Every time we take him, he pees on the floor as soon as we walk in. Once he did #2 on the floor. I was soooo embarassed! LOL
Hope they figure out what it is, and everything goes smoothly for Onslow tomorrow!
He liked it UNTIL
he got neutered. Now he HATES it. =(

geeze I have the opppsite problem here..
I get them to the vet and they do not want to LEAVE that place..lol
all my dogs are great at the vets but the little female pug..she does not like it there but the rest..gotta drag them out the door to go home.lol
good luck to Onslow. I know vets can be very stressful for some dogs. hope they find something for his itchy skin. hives are not fun for sure.
Yep foot chewing is
driving me NUTS. Him too I'm sure. Poor Bruno understands.
I try to wipe his feet but it's so hard with grass. It's EVERYWHERE! LOL

ok we wont tell
Onslow!! haha. Hope it goes well for you both and they find out what is going on. I know bruno gets really itchy too when he gets on the grass, when it starts to come out. usually its his feet. good luck and give Onslow a smooch from us.
Onslow is much smarter than...
my golden retriever. Bear has seen the EXACT Dr. that "fixed" him since then...and he's ok with her! If that was me boy I'd be runnin' through walls and jumpin' out windows!
His only issue is being around new people and dogs at the vet...he has to meet and play with everyone! So me, who outweighs him by 220 pounds is on "rollerskates" every time we take him to the vet.
