Hi everyone,
I have some questions and I am hoping I can rely on you all to give me some insight and possibly advice.
I really would love to rescue a 2nd Bully.
And I have been in talks with a few people regarding starting a Bulldog rescue network for western Canada, as none exists currently.
However the issue is, that we just don't see the high volume of Bullies needing rescue as you do in the states.
So it warrants the question, is it really needed?
However I am really not interested in purchasing a puppy when I get emails and facebook messages about rescues in the states taking in 8 bullies in 6 days! However, every rescue I look at in the states doesn't adopt out of state.
I am willing to drive to get a dog.
I welcome your thoughts, ideas and suggestions...
Thanks guys.

Thanks guys!
That really helps!
I was feeling discouraged, and it helps to know that there are options.

Hi Tiffany-Again. Yes, Smoky Mountains Bulldog Club Rescue adopt
PLEASE visit our website if you are interested in one of ours. There are various transport groups that will help us get a dog to you. We require that you fill out an adoption application complete with references. If you meet our criteria and a dog comes in that appears to be a perfect fit for you and your family, we contact you for a home visit-which we rely on other rescue groups or well known bully friends to help us out (we return the favors).
If you need help finding that website, feel free to email me or take a look on the rescue forum, or go to BCA.org and find our rescue link.
Thanks for your continued interest!
You are referring to us,... 8 bullies in 6 days
but when you say "However, every rescue I look at in the states doesn't adopt out of state."
This is not our policy, esp. if you have breed experience - many of our dogs are in MA, ME, PA, MD - and the adopters are required to travel to us, and they do
I believe there is a rescue close to you that allows adoptions to your area, CAN, thou.
Not all bullies are as fortunate as the ones we call our own....

if you start a rescue
where you are and you save one, its worth it. Its good to get the rescue name out so people know its an option when they can no longer keep their bully or a stary comes into a shelter. It maynot be that there aren't dogs needing help, but you may just not hear about them. Just some thoughts. I thought the same thing about Indiana when I was looking to add a rescue to my pack. then I got the rescue started and I am amazed at how many really need help. I hope this helps.
