A recent but disturbing trend...or maybe it's just me *Some what OT*

Hey gang,

Twice in the last 36 hours I've seen the same thing happen twice that as a human bothers me. At two different gas stations, in 2 different cities and counties, dogs are being allowed into gas stations where the attendants and for sale products are. NEITHER dog on leash, neither dog a therapy dog.

Am I the only person who thinks the gas stations shouldn't allow this? In one instance we were told "He has always brought in his dog". Or is this something that's been happening for a while that I as a responsible dog owner who wouldn't PURPOSELY allow my dog into a store will have to get used to?

We have a gas station and my dogs have always gone in and out as

No one ever seems to have an issue with it... and Einstein goes straight behind the counter and goes for the jerky.

I don't mind at all!

Except for not being on a leash.
If the store owner doesn't mind, and the dog owner will clean up any accidents, it wouldn't bother me at all to see a dog in a gas station. I am always worried about leaving Audrey in the car alone, and have so far never done it, even just to run in a gas station quick. The frequency of stolen dogs lately is so alarming, I'd rather the dog went in with it's owner!

There are a couple

of local stores in my town that we know the owner of that allow Ozzy inside. He is on a leash of course. One is on our walking route and if I need something quick I will go inside--otherwise I would either have to leave Ozzy tied up outside (never going to happen) or walk home and come back.

yes more no kids allowed would be great.....

i wouldnt allow my dogs to act like half the kids do now days....
i am glad in hadley mass...their putting 6 kids in jail for bullying a girl to death in school...disgusting horrible brats....its about time kids paid for their actions.....instead of finding everthing funny......

I mind when I can't take my dog in

My dog is perfectly well behaved, on a lead, under control.

I've seen children poking food, opening packets, eating fruit off the shelf, putting things onto shelving, running round like it's a play area etc etc etc, where is the "No unruly kids" signs !!!

so i really dont see your concern....what is it....dogs being near food?

Irresponsible pet ownership

First of all, it is disturbing that the dogs are not on leashes. I would be concerned the dog would take off and get hit by a car. I would never take my dog out in a public place without a leash.

Second, gas stations usually sell food and dogs should not be allowed in an establishment that has food products.

I'm really surprised the owner's of the gas station would allow dogs to come inside.
