Really P.O.'d today...

Jumping on my soap box for a minute..I was really disgusted today having heard about bulldogs for sale on a classified site that does nothing but sell "below cost" One such bulldog is a "supposed rare blue" bulldog for almost $2400-$6000!!!!!I also saw postings for many many import pups. I had warned this person that "brokering imports pups" is wrong! This is not supported or condoned by our parent BCA club. It is not about introducing new lines to the states...just simply a business and a way to try and take someones money. Be advised, purchasing an import pup leaves you little legal recourse if health or temperment issues Adminse especially if you buy from one of these "brokers" disguised as ethical bulldog breeders!
Getting the word out, buyer education, having a plan when looking for a sound refferred breeder is the way.
I can not post the names or sites but PLEASE be AWARE!! Those cute wrinkles do go away and you could be left holding the bag on major medical bills or a dog that does not resemble the standard.
oik....stepping off the platform now.....

blue bulldog..

Yeah, maybe his blood! LOL

Is there such a thing as a "blue bulldog"

I agree with your post. Just curious where I could see a picture of a "blue bulldog."

In Relation... Watch out!

Just a note...
I was crusing the web one day and came across a website that has puppies (all kinds) for sale.
The website requires you to enter your personal info to allow your access in.. to see pictures.
Well, needless to say I filled the info out w/curiousity. I saw the pups... very cute, but they were $2800 dollars and no detailed info about parents or health was given. It did report that health was gaurenteed and the parents were campions, thats it!
Well.. I was over it and left the site.
HOWEVER, the website called me the next day and a sales person tried to sell me a puppy, like it was a Friken microwave on sale! He gave me his extension and said he is employed by the website and contracted to by the breeder to sell them!
YEAH OK... needless to say I hung up!
How can they do this? The puppies were clearly from a PuppyMill!
Sorry, if anyone knows the site or I offended anyone, I could be wrong... but that sure is the impression the man gave off!

Re: blue bulldog..

About a year back a person was trying to get AKC to register there "RARE BLUE BULLDOG" well if you looked at the pictures he was a dark grey brindle....She left BCA and complained to AKC, well I saw a picture of this dog now an adult and he is surely a lot lighter and grey brindle....Just no blue bulldogs anywhere, its not in standard and its a rip off if some one is trying to sell you one, let an expert look at the color, grey dark brindle is usually the case. Web

I can go off the deeeeeeep end about that subject...

Rachel,
Yep....like yourself I could go off the deep end discussing those darn***** people. I get so angry also...guess they never had a heart!

Have soap box will travel..

The life of a Bulldog lover =) I too get red hot when I see these puppy brokers...It angers me to no end that they prey on the "Impulse Buyer" who don't bother to educate themselves about the breed. So sad these people are only in it for the money and not to better the breed.

no blues-not in our color code standard...

I could not pull anything up on a web site for them. I can't imagine with PURE bulldogs breeding that they could have produced a "blue" bulldog. Had to have weimariner in there somewhere. Like great danes, you get harles, blacks, mantles and merles from breeding blacks to blacks, harles, to harles. A solid black bulldogs is "objectionable" by our standard.
