Question (not really bulldog related)

Hi I know this is not really bulldog related but I just have to ask. I have a 2yr old pitbull that has recently become aggressive and I have no idea what to do with him. Today he bit my roommate and caused her to move out. I would love to have someone work with him but there is no possible way that I can afford a trainer. I am just wondering if anywhere knows of someplace that would take him and try to work with him on his aggression issues? I really do not want him to be put to sleep or end up in the wrong hands. Please if anyone knows of anywhere I would really appreciate it.

I'm sorry

you are dealing with this. Unfortunately you are in a position of huge liability with a dog that bites. I hope you can find a Pit rescue that can.

Re: Have a pit

No she was just putting him in his crate because someone was at the door and we can not let him go near anyone without him trying to bite. I live in Mass and I have talked to a couple of behaviorist nothing had helped and I just cannot afford anymore. I am not looking to send him away to be trained I am looking for somewhere he can go and not be put to sleep.

Have a pit

I have a pit also, she can be very protective. Was it something that your room mate may have done that caused him to bite your roommate? Is your pit adopted or did you have him since he was a puppy? Im in NJ i dont know where you live to even begin looking for someone to help happy.gif

Sending him away to train is going to cost a lot more....

you really should look into a behavorist for him and have him evaluated ASAP. Really, if he bit your room mate that hard you may not have the option of keeping him. If she goes to the Dr. if that bite gets infected, they will be knocking on your door for proof of rabies and possibly quarantine or euthanasia based on the bite laws in your area.
