I couldn't get back home on Tuesday. Had the camera and took pics of each road I tried to go down. Really busy today, first day back at work, but wanted to make time to share some pics.

The valley road my parents live on.

This rolling water is supposed to be a 8' drop off dam.

Parking lot to Bradford River you can see how high it is by the sign.

Finally gave up ditched the car and got a ride from my dad in his truck.

the small town I grew up always flooded so I'm kind of used to see this. Glad you are safe. Did you get Onslow a life jacket....or his very own boat?

what is called the 'stupid motorist law' which says that if you drive into a flooded street and get washed away, you have to pay for your own rescue. Glad you finally found a way to get home, must have been very frustrating.

We did have that happen here about 15 years ago. Every direction you tried to go to get home was flooded. It's pretty scarey.

Sadly, that looks all too familiar

I hope no one lost their life. Probably the most horrific story that came out of Katrina occurred in a nursing home. Many of the elderly patients were just abandoned and left to drown in their beds when the water rose up to the ceiling.

I also hope most of the homeowners in your town have flood insurance. Did most of the homes get water?
