Here's a series of shots from last fall. The regal #10, who has claimed the title of top dog at Mammoth Hot Springs following the demise of the legendary #6.
He doesn't look quite so regal as he tries to position himself for a somewhat comfortable nap ... but he's sure an impressive lawn ornament!

Wow! Was that taken in your yard?
If so, where do you live?

Those are structures around Mammoth Hot Springs
it is within the park and located near the northern entrance.
Quite a few park employees live there year around and are use to the elk on the lawns.
It is more troublesome during the rut, when multiple bulls are battling over harems of cows.

Gorgeous photo . . . have a question r.e. the background
is that someone's home in the background? If so, how do the people in that town go about their business? I would think it would be very dangerous to step out of your house and walk to your car (or Abrams Tank) if a bull elk is laying on your front lawn. Wouldn't it attack people? Or, are they less aggressive than a bull moose or a killer crawfish?
