O/T: if anyone likes to watch a good ghost movie, one is on right now ...

go to the Lifetime Movie Channel. It starts at 9 pm CST (10 pm EST). The movie is called "Wind Chill." It's about two college students driving home during the Christmas break. Their car breaks down out in the middle of nowhere and it's snowing like crazy. Then ghosts start appearing. Far different from the usual kind of ghosts. Very spooky. It's more of an old fashioned horror movie, i.e., it doesn't rely on a bunch of chopping off limbs and slicing up young women.

The movie stars Emily Blunt, who played Meryl Streep's top assistant in the movie The Devil Wears Prada. She was also recently nominated for an Oscar for the movie Young Victoria.

They picked a perfect town for filming it

one of the spookiest scenes takes place on that bridge. And there are lots of beautiful snowy scenes in the movie. I bot the DVD and I usually watch it at least once every summer to see the nice cool weather.

Sorry meant to say - they filmed it in Woodstock Vt...

I am sure you are correct that the story takes place in a small town in NY...

That takes place in Woodstock Vt...

A town I spent most of my weekends growing up in. The played the movie in the old movie theater that needed a lot of repair. I wouldn't go see it. My sister and cousin went running from the theater. We would drive over that bridge all the time...

Well, if u haven't read it yet, read "Ghost Story"

that's the best ghost story novel I have ever read. It's about five older men who live in a small town in upstate New York. They are the pillars of the community. One is a doctor, two are the partners in a law firm, another is a very wealthy investor, and I think the other was the town's mayor or something. They form a club they call the Chowder Society. Once a month, they meet and one of them tells a ghost story to the others. But then they find themselves in a real ghost story because of something they did to a young woman back when they were college students.

It is also a great movie with a wonderful cast that includes Fred Astaire, John Houseman, Melvyn Douglas, and Douglas Fairbanks, Jr.
