St.John, and New Brunswick in July? Thinking of taking a cruise with me sisters.Loss my oldest sister in Jan. and I got to thinking that the rest of us should spend more time together. Never been on a cruise before. Actually don't travel much at all except to Disney World or to car shows here and there so this is all new and confusing to us. I would appreciate it if anyone has some idea if this would be a good trip and what the temps are like there in July. Also just how bad is the rain? Thanks,Gloria
We're from PEI
July is the perfect time to be in the maritimes and Halifax is a beautiful city... St. John, NB, (IMO) leaves a lot of be desired, very industrial city and always foggy. You need to find a cruise that brings you to Charlottetown, PE, it's absolutely gorgeous here and plenty to do as you step off the cruise ship. But all in all, a fantastic trip with temps from the 70's up to the 90's that time of year. Always a breeze blowing so it's never HOT.

We cruised...
7 days from New York to Halifax, St. John and Boston from New York last October. I don't know about July. We had beautiful weather and it was a great cruise. Hope you have lots of fun!
Thank you all so much. Well I guess it's a great place to
go,I just hope all three of us can manage to afford the cruise. One of my sisters has a rough life and I so want her to get away for a while. You don't stop to think what your sisters mean to you until you lose one.Let everyone in your family know that you love them. I am so glad that I talked to my oldest sister on the phone everday and told her I loved her before we hung up the phone. She live four and a half hours away,so we didn't see her as often as we would have liked to but we sure talked alot on the phone. I could talk to her about anything. Again thank you all so much for the info on Canada. Hugs,Gloria
My co-worker is from Nova Scotia
I understand it's very beautiful in the spring and summer.
it is beautiful
you will love it, the east coast has alot to see
I love Halifax and also...
I enjoy New Brunswick too. I visit Gagetown, NB every Summer, and spend every Summer in Nova Scotia. Cape Breton is a must-see.
Nova Scotia is my favorite place in the world. It is so extraordinarily beautiful, and the people are the nicest I have ever met.
The air is so clean in Nova Scotia. I honestly breathe better in Nova Scotia. It is such a clean Province, and I am always so impressed that it is mandatory for all businesses and homes to recycle. I wish more places in this world, including the United States made it mandatory for everyone to recycle.
Speaking of seafood...
Find a nice coastal lobster place that cooks the lobster in the salt water... you will not be disappointed.
you will love it
once in a lifetime opportunity!
take it.
In July it will be hot and humid, not sure how much rain you will see.
But it is so beautiful there. and the people are the nicest you will ever meet.
Hope you like seafood!

You 'll love it!
Halifax was awesome! Very scenic and lots of great historical sites to visit. And some really excellent restaurants. Don't know how much time you will have to travel around (if any) but there are some amazing places just outside of Halifax that are worth a visit too.
I was in New Brunswick about four summers ago but didn't visit St-John, so can't help you there. Overall, I was wowed by Nova Scotia and not as wowed by New Brunswick.
The weather in July should be lovely - can't guarantee no rain though (this is Canada, after all!).
I'm from East Coast of Canada-Eh....
Born in Newfoundland actually, went to school in Fredericton, NB, my DH is from Dartmouth (Halifax) as well as "the valley" in Nova Scotia.
IMO (totally biased) there is no place on earth like the "Maritimes." The temperatures are generally lovely that time of the year depending how far you are from the coast. They range from the 30s (Celsius) inland and drop closer to the mid-20s+ (Celsius) on the coast (aka. Halifax). Halifax is a beautiful city with lots of culture. Driving down to the valley and the Bay of Fundy is a worthwhile trip as well if you have the time (the tides are unbelievable.. and there is whale-watching there in July).
Visiting those areas it's all about the "east coast" culture and history.
Quick question, do you mean St. John New Brunswick, or St. John's Newfoundland? Very different places, both are worth a trip though. St. John is off the Bay of Fundy (just on the New Brunswick side).
Feel free to e-mail me with any questions. I warn you I am completely biased though !

Halifax is awesome
one of my favorite places in Canada. It's beautiful there in the summer and you will love the friendly people. I would highly recommend it.
