wow, I just saw a bunch of photos on CNN.com. The flooding looks terrible in Pawhucket and the Governor said the worst is yet to come. Good luck to all of you in that area. I hope you and your homes stay dry.

the floods are making the news here in Canada in the US..

they said today I think that every state is under a flood advisory in the US.
really nice here in ontario canada for a change
but I did hear my sump pump going off today for a bit too
I also get a bit of water in the springtime
put in a sump buddy is the power goes out ..so it will keep on running..they do not use any power to run..

It's crazy around here...

Bridges have floated away, there's an apartment complex whose parking lot disappeared in a mudslide, and now the whole foundation is exposed, and the building is moving. All you hear if you walk around my neighborhood is ShopVacs and all you see are hoses coming out into the road with gushing water. Roads are closed everywhere. My coworkers all stayed home yesterday bailing out their basements. People who have never had water in thier basements!

Rivers are still due to rise tomorrow... it's nuts! Thankfully, for once, my house is fine! All of my neighbor's are in a bind... they all have basements. I'm on a dirt crawlspace. I long for more storage, but I think after this, I'll count my blessings. It was the PERFECT situation for once. Bone dry!

neighbors have had bad flooding. Our house hasn't had any flooding.

I took out everything we have stored in the cellar, just in case. I also made duplicate copies of important documents and put them in a safety deposit box.

It is so heartbreaking to see the suffering and devastation these natural disasters cause.

The authorities and the National Guard have been doing a great job helping people. They have really stepped up.
