Cowboy:
Raven's cat Cowboy has had an upheaval in his life like Betty in I when Raven left us. Cowboy was 6 months old when Raven was born and they were best friends.
Welcoming Raven's ashes home, amazing:
He got very sick, along with Betty in the days and weeks after Raven crossed the Bridge. He's better now, and so is Betty, and we are adjusting to our New Normal. Betty doesn't like him. She will shove him across the room if she gets the opportunity. And he doesn't have his big buddy for protection any more. sigh
He's taken to decapitating his toy mousies and bringing them to me. In bed by my pillow.
It's nice to know that I'm not alone in missing my boy.

I understand completely.
And you know I not only cry with you, but laugh with you and pray for you, too:-)

Wow! That is really amazing!
I am in awe of animals and their capacity for both love and understanding. Sending good thoughts to all of you as you adjust to this new home. Big hugs!

My handsome Malcolm, gone but not forgotten!
Sorry!
I really appreciate having someplace to share and vent as I go through this and know that you all understand.

Cowboy was saying two things there
1) Hey, welcome home old buddy.
2) Thanks mom for bringing Raven home.
Sniff, sniff...
It's amazing to me
how much these losses affect the whole family. Even the animals. Raven sure was a special guy and I can see he is still very missed by all.
I did giggle when I saw the decapitated mouse though.

Geez Dawn, do you LIKE making me cry?
Poor Cowboy. What a beautiful story though....he really knew Raven was home, didn't he? That is how Kora my Dobe and Fat Louie my kitty are. Inseparable.
