opinions

I would like your opinions on something. what do you think about letting your dog roam around the house freely at night out the cage or when you are gone ....if the dog is trustworthy and will not damage anything? you think it will do anything to its behavior when it comes time to put her in a cage. my doggy bella is 14 months old. and she has been house trained for quite sometime now. i tested her and left her out a few times alone and came home and she was sleeping in her bed when i come home. she seems to be ok alone. what do you guys do and think

If we're gone for a short time...

We leave Dolly out & I think she just sleeps, no problem. But she stays in our mudroom when we're gone for a number of hours. I figure why be upset with her if she has a potty accident or chews up something important. There's nothing she can damage in the mudroom. happy.gif Good Luck.

Pretty Please...

hahaha....

Funny you should say that. I just left my almost 9 year old bulldog stay out of her crate last week when I went to visit grandma. Even said....Ok Liz...you can stay out...you won't get into anything. FAMOUS Last words....Came back from my grandmas to find that she had gotten into the bag of dog food (wasn't a whole bag, just what wouldn't fit into the dog food container) but still quite a bit, had pulled the bag down off that containter which is 3 feet tall....and ate and ate and ate....buffett style.

I was sooo scared she would bloat, b/cause her belly was distended. I tried gagging her. Nope. So I told Sean, check on her in a little bit.( I had to work the next day) He did, and she threw up numerous times thru out the night, and then even got diarrhea.

Mine are out all the time.

I have never come home to a mess.....unless I am gone too long and one of them needed to potty. I excuse those times though since they are my fault!

I let my three year old bulldog loose in the house

I do have crates with ex pens around them for the puppy and the pug, while I'm gone.

Michelle, Helen, Penny, Spanky and Faye pup

Maybull has never been crated

She used to have a little tent, but the door was always open. She does not steal or chew anything but her own toys. I think that she thinks that her whole house is her crate. We used to free-feed her, putting her food out for her to eat when she was hungry and she'd nibble throughout the day. We can't do that since we got the little dog who will steal Maybull's food right in front of her.

Woof!

I crate the pugs..leave out the bullies if I go out...

always come home to find them napping somewhere..
at night they sleep with one of us so they are always out
have left Gus to sleep on the couch if he is sleeping ..do not wake him. he is deaf and sometimes he is sleeping..so just leave him on the couch. he is fine and in the same place in the morning. he usually sleeps with me though...

I never leave my dogs out for hours and hours without me there..but a few hours here and there.is never a problem.

Shouldn't be a problem

I gave Kirby free reign at about 9 months. I don't lock him in his kennel much anymore. When I do it's not an issue for him.
