i didnt find any broken toys BUT he played with a cardboard box yesterday and riped it to pieces.... i saw him tearing pieces off and spitting them out ; so i didnt think he ate any of it ... but now i think he must have eaten a piece of the box since i cant find anything else he might have eaten .
i feel terrible that i even let him play with it now... but he had so much fun.... i didnt think about that anything could happen . bad mommy

Jenny, you aren't a bad Mommy, I am always
right there with mine and sometimes, my eyes can't be on eght of them at one time. Mine have gotten into wild grapes, Bella eats her bedding constantly, so now the little baby doesn't have any bedding in her crate, oh well, tires of $$$$$$$$ at the vet's office. Mack will eat anything that doesn't move, Spike will eat every lizard he can find, along with a frog or two if he can catch them and he had a few times. My Lola is good she doesn't eat anything she shouldn't. Jackson either, but you never know!!!! don't feel bad, I got a speeding ticket as I was actually thanking the police for following me to the ER Vet were I jumped out of my car with Lola who was bloating, rushed he inside and came out to him giving me a speech on it's only a dog thing, and gave me a speeding ticket. I guess when I asked him he had a dog as a partner would that make any difference or would it still be jst a dog, because I paid just as mch for my just a dog as they do for the trained dogs. Didn't like my response I guess. By the way, did your bulldog arrive safely?
I know what you mean about ER vets
I'm not saying all of them are so money hungry, but I've had some bad experiences. When Clovis got pancreatitis and I rushed her to the local ER vet, she was in a LOT of pain when we walked in the door. I pleaded with the people at the front desk to immediately take her into the back and start treatment. No, they wouldn't hear of it. I FIRST had to write them a check for a deposit. Only after I handed them the check and they ran it thru their machine did they finally take Clovis to the back where the vets were.
They also ripped me off big time on one of my cats. My cat, Molly, used to periodically get a mystery disease that no vet I took her to, including the vets at LSU's veterinary school, could identify. Bascially, mucuous would just come pouring out of her nose, she would first lose the use of her front paws, then her rear paws. The LSU vets finally came up with a combo of meds, Baytril and Predisone, that would reverse it, almost miracuously. Twice Molly got sick this way and twice this combo worked. Then it happened a third time, but at night. So I rushed her to the ER vet on a Friday night. When the vet came out to discuss Molly's medical history, I told her about the drug combo the LSU vets had come up with. They said she had to spend the night. I get a call the next afternoon (Saturday)telling me that I should come say goodbye to Molly because she probably would not live to Sunday. When I got there, the vet told me they had done an EKG on her, and EEG, and some other equally expensive tests. They said the bill was already $1,200. But they wanted to try one more thing, some kind of scan of her sinus cavity, that would cost another $500, tho it still looked like Molly would not make it thru the night. At that point I asked if they had tried the drug combo I had told them about. The vet looked puzzled (it was a different vet from the one who spoke to me on Friday night), checked the record, and said no, they had not. So I demanded that they give it a try. Well, I get a call Sunday morning telling me Molly had a miraculous turnaround overnight and she could probably go home Sunday night. Of course, by then they had added another $200 to the bill. If I had not pushed the issue, Molly probably would have died because they never would have used the drug combo. I'm still furious at that place and dread going there, tho unfortunately it's the only option at night and on weekends.
So, I understand your frustrations. Good luck with Bruce. I hope he is much better by the time you read this. And you are not a bad mommy. It is not possible for any of us to watch our bulldogs 24/7, and they are such rascals that they all inevitably get to something they shouldn't have.

Enjoy the movies. That's...
awesome that he was able to get a large amount of dvds at the store.
Give Bruce a big hug and kiss from me.
Molly died about 5 years ago
the disease finally got her. My vet did give me a supply to keep on hand. But the last outbreak, the drug combo didn't work. My vet said at her age, 14, her immune system just couldn't fight it anymore, even with the help of the drugs.

Gary...re Molly, I hope your vet has
enough confidence in you, since this has happened three times with same symptoms, that you keep a supply of both the a/b and steroid "on hand"= enough for 3 days which would tide you through a weekend and let you get to the office on Monday, so you wouldn't have to face the ER again with this cat! Shameful what they can charge up, those ER vets!!!
thank you so much for your sweet and kind words
and yea , they are our babies ... ! thank you for your prayers in advance... ill be on poop patrol

You are not a bad Mommy and please...
don't blame yourself about this. Both of my dogs have had many enjoyable moments ripping up cardboard board boxes and they both like to open up wrapped gifts.
I am very sorry that you are dealing with this stress. I can understand your worry. These Bullies are our babies.
I will say lots of prayers that Briuce will feel better. Hopefully he'll poop the material out soon.
thanks ela1ne... yea.. funny enough hubby just bought about 50 d
hollywood video place closed down here(its like blockbuster) and he scored
i hope ,too that he will be able to poop it out in the morning..... he is sleeping in his crate right now(he went on his own) ill just leave the crate door open and the doggie door to the yard as well ; that way he can go out if he has to . ill stay around and keep an eye on him.
this was my first time to an er vet ..... hopefully my last lol

Sorry you're gonna have a loooong night and I understand.
Maybe the worst has already passed. If it was a big bellyache it may be on its way out. The facts as you stated, good respiration, good gum color, no fever, willing to drink water...those are all "good signs". If he ate some cardboard and it caused some upset, it should eventually dissolve and maybe it will pass by morning...even some "gas" passing in the night or morning would be another "good sign". I totally understand your frustration in dealing with both vet offices! I hardly ever used an ER except when I was sure I couldn't wait until morning, and I always faced horrendous vet bills because they want to run every test in their imagination. Hope there are some good movies on TV tonight. hugs to Bruce
hahaha thanks , that made me laough ... not that i want ure fing
lol but i know about those little shark teeth as well lol

Re: thank you so much for your sweet and kind words
I hope Bruce is ok! Please don't think you are a bad mommy! I have been watching my 13 week old Stig all day every day since I got him last week, and he has gotten a hold of everything that isn't tied down. And even things that are. I caught him with a piece of paper he had gotten hold of, and tried to fish it out of his mouth with my fingers, which almost got taken off by that crazy strong puppy jaw and sharp teeth. You can only do so much, and unless he was in his crate all day long, he is bound to get into things he shouldn't. Hopefully, he will feel better soon and maybe even form a distaste for cardboard!
