My Lucy LOVES chewing on bones. Since she was a pup we were instructed to use Nyla bones. Well, "somebody" gnawed their teeth down, so the vet says...no more Nyla bones. I know she misses them. Any ideas? I use a Kong, but she's such a greedy monster, once she gets all the peanut butter out (in a matter of seconds..it seems) she's bored again.
Anything you guys may suggest?
Knuckle bones
I think they're the best. Kirby loves 'em.

We had this discussion at work on Friday....
One of our co-workers found out her pug was wearing his teeth down on them too. Changed to another type of bone and the dog ended up having emergency surgery on Friday for a blockage. sigh My dogs love Nyla Bones, even when I stuff Kongs they will chew them but 9 times out of 10 want the Nyla Bone instead and will leave the Kongs laying around.
wow no suggestions but now that you mention this Bella is always
did notice her front teeth seem very small these days, hmm she has vet appt tommorow I am going to have him look at her teeth
Hope everyone has a great day
My dogs love them.... but
I get the ones with the pnut butter in them cause it doesnt stain the carpet. I worry that the dark red stuff (not sure what filling that is) will stain. Mine have never cracked one ether, but after a while I do have to take them away because they will start to wear down and break off the edges around the ends. Still, they last for a VERY long time before that even happens.
I know some people order deer antlers off Ebay and places like that. I think Denise is one of them. I have never used them, but have heard they are indestructible and make for great chew toys.

Buford cracked open the bone filled w/peanut butter and had it i
I fill my kongs with canned dog food and freeze it. Last a little longer that way.
I use butcher knuckle bones..
let them chew out the marrow..keeps them busy and whatever meat is on them..
buy them at your grocery store or butcher
Petsmart sells femur bones that are stuffed with things like pea
the bones are extremely tough. My girls have never cracked one, tho I think some others here have said that their bulldogs did do so. So, if you do give them a try, make sure Lucy is in your line of vision while she gnaws on them.
