Hope everyone's weeks are going very well and Happy St. Patrick's day! As a follow-up to our update last week - we have worked hard to recreate the BDW to incorporate some of the views of various members:)
Some of the suggestions that we got included that the logo should: have more color, be more fun, be simple and that it include a globe (to symbolize BulldogsWorld)!
After many iterations, we are so excited with our new logo and think that we have made a logo that we hope you all like as much as we do!
So without further ado, we'd like to present our new logo for BDW! Hope this comes as good news to everyone:) We tried our very best to incorporate everyone's comments and make something that is fun, fresh and would represent our fantastic community here at BDW
that is such a great logo~~~!!! great job guys
hugs

Well said
My PollyAnna has a longer nose and by breed standards not a perfect Bulldog. She is still a registered Bulldog and perfect to me and the residents at the nursing home she visits. Is she less of a Bulldog because of her nose? No she is not.
Bulldogs...its an obsession!

Aha! Got it... thanks guys!
I knew it would be easy, but now I feel like a total idiot. Thanks much!
The puppy is PERFECT
There are many of us who come here not in pursuit of the 'perfect' show puppy, and are not looking for a Champion bulldog. Perfection of form is the LAST thing we think of when it comes to our beloved babies.
We just truly adore our imperfect, unsuitable for showing, sweet, goofy, stubborn, loveable bully babies.
Our babies that the show breeders sold us because they were not suited for use in their show/breeding program are still just as deserving of recognition, flaws and all, of what a bulldog represents.
How many puppies actually ARE of such perfect form that they are suitable for showing out of any given litter?
The rest of those puppies do not deserve to be treated as if they are unworthy to even be a representative of bulldogs. They ARE bulldogs!
They are the bulldogs that venture out to live in people's homes, the bulldog you see on the street that draws attention like a magnet, the bulldog that does the bully wiggle butt when they see their beloved people.
It is their bully personality that causes such infatuation with them, even if their nose is a bit longer than the ideal of the standard.
You want an ideal represntation of what a bulldog is?
How about the abused and neglected bulldog that STILL hasn't lost faith in humanity and does the bully wiggle butt when they finally have a human that loves them? That loving bulldog personality is what it's all about.

I love it!
it's very cute. =)

Oops!
That should have been Céline, with an accent. I don't have the accents on my keyboard, but I can copy and paste.
You've expressed it very well!
Thanks Celine! I was feeling badly for them too, with this impossible task. They'll be wishing they hadn't asked for input.
Glad you mentioned this
I also think the puppy not to represent the breed better.
I was also thinking the position of the puppy looks like his nose is smashed into the globe. Maybe he could be sitting in a more forward postion with his head and body slightly turned towards the globe. Just my thought.
I think the Logo is very generic.
Sorry...I dont like it at all. BDW deserves something much better.
Wild West Bulldogs
We're getting there....
I like the concept alot too - perfect for the site. Just not sure of the choice of the various elements (font & puppy pic).
I feel for you guys, having to please thousands of picky bulldog nuts You'll never please everyone, that's for sure (I also liked the first black and white one - I thought it was classy). But I think people have given you some great paths to explore.
We appreciate all your hard work!
Agreed
Doesnt look like a Bully puppy. I like the logo, but the puppy is wrong. They are right.
Ooops, it's a rectangle, not a square
and it's more like three inches wide and two inches high.

It's at the top of this page, just to the left of the board's na
all the other info up top. It's a photo of an English Bulldog puppy sitting sideways with his nose right by a globe of the Earth. It's in a square box that is about one or two inches wide by one or two inches long.
Maybe you are instead seeing the infamous little red "x" in a box??

you will need to refresh the page..
or open BDW in a new window
the logo is great..
love it
Where can I see the "new" logo?
It's not showing up in this post and when I go to the home page I'm not seeing it either. Is there somewhere else I should be looking?
I apologize NOW if it's clear as the nose on my face but it's just escaping me.
Agreed - Penny would be perfect

Re: I'm glad you said this, Sue...I thought the same thing.
Put Penny's photo when she was pup on the rocks on top of the world
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away.
Great concept BUT the I don't like the puppy picture ....
Look like an old english or american bulldog...

I agree with Cathy,
I don't think my dogs are any less Bulldog than the best champion, just because 2 of mine wear diapers. They should also be represented in the breed. The logo dog does not need to be "perfect", every type of Bulldog is a part of this forum.

agree here too......
doesn't look like a bully.
agree..........
not digging it.
I'm with you Sue, also :)
There are many people that come to this site that don't have bulldogs. We are here to get educated and by projecting the standard of the bulldog we are putting in their heads what a bulldog should really look like so that they don't go to the first back yard breeder that sell puppies that look like "bull-boxers". I am not saying that those dogs don't deserve to be loved but why should we keep feeding the greed of those "breeders"? They are doing nothing but degrading our breed and neither one of us want that.
O.K., those are my 2 cents, probably more than what you wanted to hear about the logo

Love the new logo
but I loved the other one to. Just glad I don't have to come up with something everyone might like. Happy for all you do.
Right on Cathy!~

I'm not quite sure
No. Good concept but...
I'd like it better if the world and dog were drawings rather than photos. Font is too harsh and "black." Needs softening up.
Okay, that's my 2 cents.
I don't rescue animals because I want to feel better about myself, or morally superior to anyone. The best part of my life with animals is the humility they teach and the humanity the foster.

I didn't see that one.

I like the concept but...
the puppy is to nosey and looks to be of poor quality.
I know that probably doesn't matter much to most of you but I think it takes away from the logo.

Nope..
not up to what I would expect from this site. Hire a graphic designer. It wouldn't cost much. Needs more color and dimension and a better more beefy font with shading.

I like that one a LOT better!!!
It's cute!
Much better!!
Looks much better, good work on the update.
I'm glad you said this, Sue...I thought the same thing.
I like the concept but wish the dog's head was more in line with BCA conformation. Is that being too picky? Dunno.
