OK I know I am not the only desert dweller here and yea I count Adminzona as desert also.
Here is the situation---it doesn't start cooling off and by that I mean it doesn't drop below 100 till around 9pm, that is when I take Abby for her walk now the problem is we are having a VERY BAD year for rattlesnakes, brown recluses, blackwidows and scorpions. We are finding them everywhere including our own yards. Now how do you make a bullie wake up in the early am for a walk since it is to dangerous to walk at night? Abby won't even open an eye at me till at least 11am. She is very stubborn and already set in her ways.
Any advice appreciated.

We are at Ft Irwin California
and the nearest town is Barstow and that is 45 minutes away and the closest Petco or Petsmart is an hour and a half away in Victorville. Victorville is a once a month trip cause I hate the drive that much. We have to go down the 15 thru heavy construction and very narrow lanes.
Also if Abby doesn't get her walk she will pee in the diningroom even if we take her out before we go to bed. She calls it paybacks.

advice from desert dweller
Amber, we basically forego the walks this time of the year when we're in Phoenix. It's just too hot no matter how late it is. Even early morning is hot. We have all those creatures too, especially rattlers and scorpions so we're very careful. We always check the yard before we let them out. Do you have any indoor a/c places you could take them like Petsmart? Oscar gets lots of exercise running around and sniffing everything in the store.
give her some high value treats!
that should help wake her bully butt up!
