LOOKING FOR THE PERFECT PUPPY!!

I posted a message before about my 7wk bully Sumo and his health concerns. Well I informed the breeder on what was going on with Sumo. She told me she did not want to cover his vet bills and that she will just refund us the money for Sumo. Well Obviously I am so sad and depressed but I cannot afford Sumos Bills at this time because I just purchased a home. I know down the road if there was anything wrong with Sumo I would cover it no matter what. Well I am giving Sumo back and I want to get a healthy puppy from a good breeder here in Adminzona. If anyone knows of someone great that has good healthy puppies in AZ please please write to me. I am looking for a dog like Sumo that is male and is brindle. Help me get a healthy puppy.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart

I would think he will go to someone who will be willing to take

Someone who can afford to have his umbilical hernia repaired and will be aware of his knees for the rest of his life. (No offense meant to you whatsoever Alex.) Something niggles at my mind about that knee/hip issue though - all too often we hear that "diagnosis" from vets who aren't truly familiar with bulldogs and their looser than average hips, etc. But I'm not going to second guess anyone.

Those problems to me wouldn't have been a reason for ME to return a puppy. But everyone has their own "situations."

But be warned, Alex, Bulldogs are not inexpensive breeds. You might get a totally healthy, wonderful puppy, and incur huge random vet bills down the line. Just how it is when you fall in love with them.

What's going to happen to SUMO???!!!

I'd question a breeder that would let a puppy go at 7 weeks

and I would not be back to them to get another puppy anytime soon.

You might want to rethink a bulldog all together as the health issues can be overwhelming no matter what stage of your life you are in.

SUMO

I just got back from giving Sumo Back to the breeder. The breeder gave me my money back and she said that if she has any other litters she would give me first pick and a discount. Sumo had a large Umbillical Hernia, his knee and hip joints were loose and popping. This was my first Bully and I wanted to start with a healthy puppy. Thank you all for your responses and concerns, it feels good that people care. I just hope if anyone knows of a good breeder with puppies if they could write back. Thank you all take care

7 weeks old and already having health issues..geez

what kind of health issues? I understand giving the pup back but I think you got him from a not so reputable breeder in the fist place. Many reputable breeders will refund you your money and not even ask for the pup back or give you another pup. Which in this case if they let the pup go before 8 weeks old I would vouch that they are not in this for the betterment of the Bulldog.
Please look on your breeders link for soem reputable breeders and even contact the BCA for a breeder referal for your area.
Be patient. A good Bulldog takes time to get and many of us had to larn this the hard way by buying the first bullie pup we saw and fell in love with. Unfortunalty for me, we still were uneducated even though we thought we had read everything.
Good luck

We're so sorry to hear your news. Poor Sumo. What is wrong with him? It's so sad to have to give up a pup, but if it's not to be, then the breeder gets him back, I guess. Do we know what will happen to him after that? This is a sad one, for you and him.

what was wrong with Sumo?`
