Even though he looks like he can swim well and is supervised, obviously having fun. With their short nose and the way it is pointing to the sky when they paddle, I would worry that they'd aspirate some water and then develop pneumonia...

Some bulldogs can swim, but not unattended, just asking for trouble.
Years ago, I was visiting a new bulldog friend and we were sitting out by the pool. Her bulldog Thatcher got up from under a shade tree and started running and jumped into the pool. I was up out of my chair in a second to jump in after her and "rescue" her until Ana stopped me and said Thatcher did that all the time when she was hot. She would jump in and swim around and then get out of the shallow end and go back to her tree. Scared me to death.
I had another set of "show friends" years ago who bought a beautiful male dog from Cody Sickle with 14 points, 1 to go. He used to sun himself on their diving board. They said he was fine and never fell in the pool. One day they were not looking and he did, unfortunately he did not survive. Just stupidity on their part.
I had two bulldogs through the years that accidently fell in the pool. They both sunk to the bottom like rocks with me jumping in after them.

to drowning in a deep pool. I can see a kiddie pool to swim in but that is it for me anyhow. I know another person that lets their bully swim in the lake all the time too but that would not be me either.
What about the risk of aspirating and pneumonia?
