As I was inspecting Jeeves's body today, I noticed a black lesion/growth...

on the bottom of his tail. I will bring him to the vet to have it inspected. It has upset me tremendously because I'm afraid it could be dangerous to his health. I have this sick feeling in the pit of my stomach with worry.

Has anyone here had any black growths show up on their dog? Jeeves is 9 years old now.

Please say some prayers that this will not be anything dangerous. Thank you.

If it looks and feels like a black scab, Boo gets those all the

that is what hot spots look like on her. When others on the board have posted photos of hot spots on their bulldogs, they have not looked like Boo's hot spots. Boo's spots don't look reddish, glistening, or like they have been bleeding. I hope Jeeves's spot is no more serious than a hot spot. Good luck. We will keep him in our prayers.

Don't panic

Stella had a black growth on one of her ears. It had to be removed but it was just a benign tumour. They just froze her ear and removed the growth (cryosurgery - i.e. they froze it off with dry ice so she didn't have to go under).

Best wishes for the same positive outcome!

Sending prayers for Jeeves

Maybe it's a wart or something like that. We will send lots of positive thoughts for you and Jeeves.

Good thoughts!

Hopefully it is nothing serious! My little miniature pinscher has these and the vet just said they were "old dog warts" and do not worry about them. hopefully this is all that that is too!
