We were out in the yard after work, very gently playing with a ball... (i.e. not throwing it far and trying to get her to run slowly after it, but yet, trying to give her SOME exercise... LOL) and I've noticed that she gets so super-excited, when I throw the ball, her hackles on her butt go up.
I push them back down... she's all happy and silly... I throw it again, and up they go! WTH? I thought that raised fur was reserved for a squirrel in the backyard or a loud noise in the middle of the night?!
Trying to keep her calm and sedate. She sprang up like a spring two seconds after I snapped this with my phone.

She is an enigma
She just wants to keep you wondering. A girl is nothing without a bit of mystery...
wild child that she is..she sounds very healthy..
she will keep you busy
so darn cute too
Nope just Quirky
like her momma. You know you love her silly ways. She keeps you laughing which is why she's with you. Somethings are just meant to be.
I agree, you need to channel that energy into something producti
how is your obedience class going? I think she'd really love agility, that's a "busy girl's" kind of sport! LOL
oh Julia
she is just a doll, i love her markings too. thanks for the pictures!
And I thought Hurley was the only one who does that.
But her's is slightly different. When we give her a "dolly" (which is what we call all of her toys), she carries it in her mouth and walks around the perimeter of the front two rooms in our house with her hackles up, on her butt and on the back of her neck.
I always thought it might have something to do with her prey drive so I stop her and pet her a sec until her hackles are down again. Eventually she stops lurking and lays down to play with her dolly. It seemed so weird to us.

LOL They all have their little quirks, don't they?
She is so stinkin' cute & good luck keeping her sedate. I could never get mine to do that. LOL

My handsome Malcolm, gone but not forgotten!
Yep, just excited!
...and she's a fun-loving kind of girl! You really should consider doing OB, rally or agility with her--you could have a lot of fun and she'd benefit from having something to challenge her I remember reading about Ch Hetherbull Arrogant Lazarus, UD & how Jean Hetherington finally enrolled him in an OB class as he was such a handful! He went on to be the first Ch UD of our breed (and maybe the only one...I can't remember!) A smart dog can easily get bored and find destructive things to do
lol
she's a little excited, huh? What a cutie pie she is!
