I literally wanted to go U.S. postal employee...

Hey gang,

I'm the type of person who believes that all dogs should have a chance at a "forever home" no matter where they are found, but this just made me crazy mad!

My mom and I were heading to a grocery store a few days ago, that is in a mini-mall type complex. In this particular complex is Petland. We all know Petland or a store LIKE it. As we were passing their store on the way to the grocery store I saw a sign that said "Puppy Sale" which was bad enough! The sign below it said 'Financing Available'! Do you guys believe this?

It's bad enough that they over breed then sale less than healthy pups, but now they're allowing people with potentially bad credit histories to buy a puppy on credit, and run the risk of having to "repo" the pup, and take the pup away from people the pup probably loves by that point, or God forbid worse!

I really wanted to walk in there with a gun...cage all the employees AND store manager and finance THEM!

*** Note to moderator: I have NO idea if this is bully related, as I didn't have the temperament to walk in there and find out if there were any in there so this could be OT ***

Mike

P.S. Sorry but I had to vent it's been like 3 days and I'm STILL mad!

Re: I'd......

What a seriously cute little guy! Before we were started looking for a bulldog puppy, I had no idea that stores like PetLand bought from puppy mills. We actually went in there once, and I was freaked out by how sleepy all the puppies were and that they kept puppies with obviously conflicting personalities in the same cages (which were way too small for more than one dog). Two were actually fighting, definitely not playing, as one was basically curled up in the corner trying to hide, and they paid them no attention.

I'd......

get a sign and quietly protest if I felt that strongly. Remember by not buying a puppy from a pet store you are discouraging them from selling puppies in a small way. Maybe gather friends and protest. Somethings like the anti pet shop doggie sales take time, and require local action. This is Brother before I got him, a pic from the breeder. Not a pet store

I agree stores such as this should be put out of business. I don't think if the person purchased a dog on credit they would go after the dog if that person failed to pay. I would bet that they would demand some other sort of collateral such as a car, house etc. to be used as security. Full grown dogs regardless of breed aren't worth as much as a puppy, especially considering where these particular dogs are coming from. Chances are they will be riddled with health issues as they get older, I'm sure the store in question is well aware of that.
