very odd behaviour for sure
no idea why but it happens all the time
some kinda of marking going on for sure though I think
especially since Gus has no picked up this bad habit too..lol

. . . to attract the chickies. Of course, if he does that on their water bowl, they will neuter him with their bare teeth, without he benefit of anesthetic, and even if he was neutered previously.

they do not mark around the dish or anywhere..just the dish.
hard to put on a belly band outside when that is where they do go pee..
and then the dish of water has to be there at all times too for them oustide and inside.
I try to catch the water dishes before they empty..they are the worst for the water dish
I pick up the food dishes as soon as the are finished ..asap but something happens..unless they gobble the food and it is too late.

really makes no logical sense to me at all..
thanks Lisa for your suggestion but a belly band I do not think is the answer at least not outside. I try to discourage them..say NO and so on..and it still happens.

someone said urine is pretty sterile..
they NEVER DRINK IT after someone has peed in it..

sounds like typical marking to me. Food is a prized item, yes?

If you catch them in the act discourage it. And if they start in with other things you may need to get some belly bands. =( Are any of them neutered?
