The last few weeks my bully has been losing hair on the sides ...the skin is dark but not dry or flakey...any ideas of what this is ..he is very clean and is not itching...i do use frontline could this cause him to lose hair...my husband heard something on the news about flee control that causes hair loss and death in some dogs..i did not hear and not sure he got it right...any thoughts from anyone would be greatly appreciated..thanks..
Me TOO!
Melatonin did the trick for my Winnie. It's awesome.
I can vouch for melatonin...
Last year this time, Dolly had hair loss/thinning on both sides. It went away as Spring progressed into Summer. I followed the advice of someone here about using melatonin starting in the Fall. This Spring Dolly's hair looks great & also I've noticed a marked decrease in the about of shedding during the Winter. It worked for Dolly. Good Luck!
GREAT ARTICLE!

It's called seasonal alopecia and is not that uncommon
I don't think there is a cure for it. My first bulldog had it and it would come and go away based on the time of the year. Some people treat it with things like vitamins and herbal products, but I don't think anyone has come up with a treatment that is tried and true.
