I think I would feel better with the nursing home then the hospital but I can see the hospital needing a dog too. this would be the first hospital to use a therapy dog in the whole region here. so this is a big big step

PollyAnna is a very active Bulldog. She can sometimes be very very hyperactive. She takes on the personality of the people she is working with. If she is with active children in a school she will try to get rowdy with them so I try to discourage them getting in her face and running around. I try not to visit with active children for the fear that she might hurt someone by error. She is a big 60 pound girl and can hurt someone by mistake. So PollyAnna visits primarily with a local Nursing home. The residents are wheel chair and bedridden and she feeds off of the low energy which and she does well with them. When we place her blue vest on her PollyAnna goes into work mode and knows her job! She is very gentle with the residents at the nursing home. The after work treat is a cheeseburger with NO onions and she seems to know where we are going when the work is done

that is the preliminary and then the actually test itself is like 2 weeks later ontario is really really short therapy dogs she even suggested maybe one of the bulldogs would be good too but not sure Gus can do it with being deaf and Bella is out of the question..she hates change..of any type and odd situations. Gus is does excellent with all that..

I got a call from St. John's Ambulance here about the therapy program. at one time my rescued pug was very very well suited for this and tried to sign him up...well....in the meantime they did not get back to me till the other day...and they are wanting to know how I feel and they claim that they need him for a special job here. the chronic care unit and also palative care at the hospital is wanting a dog..but they want a smaller dog.....hence she thought of Max right away. the big problem is Max is my rescue and he is in his second childhood since I last talked to her. he is much better now...a ton better but far more active. she still wants me to sign him up and give it a go sounds pretty stressful for a first time therapy dog they will send someone in with me and max the first 3 times and then after that he is on his own.. what do you think?? the hospital will only consider Max for this since he has already done some side therapy work for a patient of theirs up the road that is paralized and in a wheelchair. he was great with him.but like I said that was almost a half a year ago.
also with helping all the deaf dogs and 5 dogs of my own will MY LIFE GO TO THE DOGS..hahahhaha only kidding
how does Pollyanna do she is pretty active too so thought I would ask the best..one for the job
